If you guys want a decent challenge to tide you 'till GT4, Burns Rally is the one. I was sceptical even after pretty decent reviews, but it's the best racing game of 2004 so far. It really does have the realism especially with the wheel! I am super harsh in my opinion of racing games in general but this is the third best racing game of my (extensive) collection after the GT series and GP Legends. It's not even worth comparing to McRae which is excellent in it's own right but an arcade game by comparison.

I havn't heard anything about it here in the US do you think we will get it? I used to be a big Burns fan and sounds like a fun game.

As far I know you can't get it here in the USA, but you can get the demo from gamershell.com

On a side note, how is Richard these days? Last I heard he had a brain tumour or something...

Read an article with Robert Reid (Burns' co-driver) a few weeks ago; apparently Richard is still under going treatment, but the doctors are pleased with his progress. However, no word as yet of a return to motorsport.

Hell yes! I got me an import PC copy of this the other day and it is truly one of the best simulations. This is the best driving physics model I have ever experienced and I have played them all. It is supposed to be coming to the US soon, no date yet.

Yeah RBR is a pretty Wicked game, though I couldnt even finish the Rally School Mode. Which is a pretty embarracing thing, considering I am a Rotax Pro Kart Driver.. ;) .. Yeah but I played with the DS2 and its not easiest to control the car thru a gamepad. Though I bet when the game is out on PC I'll do much better, coz till I dont get a DFP I dont want to play on any other wheel for PS2..
Hey UserOne..
BTW, which wheel do you use? And does anyone have an Idea if RBR will support 900 degree rotation of DFP?

Also think this should go in PS2 forum..

Why would you want 900 degree on RBR, rally cars have approx the same lock to lock ratio of most race preped cars, i.e about 200 degrees.

900 degree on RBR and you would never be out of the trees.

RBR for PS2 works perfectly well with DFP!
You can adjust how much will your whell rotate from lock to lock (though i think it's simulated with the help of Force Fedback, but it works just fine).
Same thing for PC, but in this case you would need a DXTweak 2 program.

And yes, driving in RBR with DS2 is a nightmare.

I know that mate, but wouldnt it be nice to have that option? Just to check how it feels on PS2. I've played GTR Demo with DFP with 900 degree wheel rotation. LeMan cars dont have 900 lock ratio, but still it was an amazing experiance.. Horrible Track Time, but was awesome driving fun..

I also played GTR demo with my DFP and i loved it. The movement of the wheel in car was almost exactly the same as movement of my DFP. 👍

Now, just if i was a better driver....

I know man, that was unbelievable, I had goosebumps playing that game (in car view) with the DFP. Steering Movement / FFB registering all the bumps, Curbs, WOW!! It was awesome.

Hold your horses. NTSC version is on the way, just be patient. Still won't sell very well, I'm afraid.

Is NTSC the US version? Or some other place? (I really never remember those stuff...) I would sure love to buy the damn game if it came to the US!!! But it won't sell well thats for sure.... Not many people into Rally stuff over here... :guilty:

That's not what the sales of the game show. Which is a crying shame!
Codies Rally game, Colin McCrash, has pretty much taken the market - it was the first mostly-realistic rally game, so RBR is going to have a hard time finding its feet.

Also, the fact that the game is named after the Ginger Whinger can't be doing it that much good as Burns is about as popular as anthrax in the UK last I heard. DOn't get me wrong, he's a great driver (shame about the tumor, I don't know if he'll be offered a drive next year), he's just not the public's favourite

Wow, just tried the demo... this game rocks! Its way better then Mcray's crap. But its damn hard... also, everyone believes the physics?... it feels like the car doesn't weight anything...

Anyways, damn good game. Gotta check out the full game's multiplayer capabilities... great for Lan parties :D

Thanks for the good news, I was even ready to buy a ...modchip ( can we pronounce that name here ? ) just in order to play the European import version of RBR.

Colin McRae used to be good but I was very desapointed with the 3rd iteration and the CMR 4 ( PS" version ) is not ( as far as I know ) even available in Canada.

Shall I cancel my preorder for GT4 and wait for RBR to arrive in canada ? :)

As long as your not talking about playing ripped games it is fine. Many members have mod chips or slip cards and whatnot to play foreign games. It is perfectly legal.

Never!!!!!

I read an interview (in a UK mag) with a pro rally driver who reckoned that RBR was harder than real-life.
