Inside Line has the full-scoop on the Mi-ray Concept, here.

So, consider this the Volt XTREME. Electric motor up front, 1.5L four cylinder in the back. All of it runs through a six-speed dual-clutch box, which is a first for GM. The word was that it could be driven on the front, or rear wheels depending on what the driver wants. Possibly, maybe, all four wheels could be driven at once, if by magic.

Although it is likely more of a pie-in-the-sky platform, it is nevertheless a pretty interesting concept. Could there be a new sub-Camaro performance car in the works? Is there a dual-clutch box coming our way in the next year or so? Will this kind of powertrain find its way into the C7 Corvette?

Time will tell.

Someone just Citroen'd the Volt.

Well, a dual clutch box actually does make a car faster and after the ZR1, GM is keen on competing with the more expensive and traditional european supercars. DSG on a possibly mid-engined 'Vette? That would be interesting.

You meant "Not American Anymoar"?

I honestly think that it will evolve into a more modern car, not by moving the engine rearwards or developing an all wheel drive version, but following the ZR1's path. Improved suspension, lots of power and serious cornering performance.

The dual clutch box is very likely, though.

As much as the press wants you to believe that the next Corvette is going to be a twin-turbocharged, mid-engined, V6 hybrid... It won't. The C7 will probably be pretty much the Stingray concept with either a 5.0L or 5.5L V8, a dual-clutch gearbox, the Magnaride suspension, and a $60 window sticker. I could see Chevrolet toying with the idea of some kind of KERS-like electric system on a Corvette Hybrid, but it will probably never make it to the streets.

If GM does this, it will probably show up as it is. Well, probably looking more like the Volt in the process.

My guess it would be a Solstice version of Volt. I don't see any connection with Corvette at all.

At least they found a way to make the corporate grille work.

The front looks like they tried to copy a GTbyCitroen but stuck a Chevy grille in the middle. Overall, I quite like it!
