It is weird of me to bring this up, but as a bit of a "shocker," when I went to a Best Buy in Pasadena, Texas, USA, I seen the GT Force Pro wheel ON SALE! Note that I entitled the thread "But I thought..." So with this, I thought GT4 and that new steering wheel would be released at the same time. So what happened? A change of plans by Logitech? People getting a chance to purchase the steering wheel long before GT4 is in stores? Or are people supposed to believe that the Summer 2004 prediction for GT4's release is a reality, considering the fact that GT4's release was clearly predicted for Winter 2004?

What's going on here?
 
I guess Logitech changed their plans, the wheel has been out for a while now (just bought mine about two weeks ago). They probably sold it early so people can get the hang of the new wheel. But what do I know?
 
Maybe they're gettting ready to release prologue here?
 
I don't know. Maybe it's my first time seeing it on sale. Best Buy sold it for like... 149. You can, of course, get the GT3 wheel for under 60. I feel I should trade my old steering wheel for something with a shifter knob and is compatible with PS2 and PS1. I still think the Mad Catz one would be within my budget, even if it isn't as good as the Logitech wheel for GT3. But, maybe Logitech changed its plans. And if GT4:Prologue is coming to America with all the goodies that we've covered in the past few months, we may get a VERY clear indication of what GT4 will be like. If they do, I wouldn't mind keeping the Prologue disk and GT4. Because after all, GT4 is GT4. Right?
 
I'll have my Driving Force Pro for 11 months and some odd days before I get my hands onf GT4... I've used it in Prologue (both Asian and Japanese). I used it the most with Live For Speed and Race Driver 2 for PC. Right now, it's in its' box...

I wonder if maskrider took his protective plastic off the GT logo'd hub yet...lol. He said he wouldn't take it off until he got GT4...

Same here. Maybe Late November when it was released to the Public. I've had mine since January.
 
Yeah, the deal with the wheel is, Logitech had it ready in December, which was GT4's original date. But GT4 wasn't ready. So Logitech was like, "screw it, we're releasing." Then Sony was like, "crap, we should give them something that supports this wheel, so they don't get all disgruntled with a worthless product," and they released Prologue.

That's what I think anyway. But appartently they didn't think Americans deserved to have a supported product. Whatever.

Wait a second... you're gonna tell me the Logitech Driving Force Pro (the one with the 900degrees turn) can also be used on a pc?
 
Yup It can. I use it on LiveforSpeed.

Than there is only one question i have about this wheel before I'm concidering to buy this one.

Is it possible to disable the 900 feature on the ps2?
I know there is a way to turn it on for the pc. (just read about it).
I mean... what if I would like to drive with normal 200 degrees in GT4 (or any other game that supports the 900degrees feature), will this be possible?

All these people betting on surprises like Prologue being launched should NOT engage in gambling.
 
Maybe they were released elsewhere first, then around my woods sometime later. I never seen that wheel on sale ANYWHERE here in Houston or southeast Texas.

Does the "late sale" of this remind you of anything? Sure. Scion. First California got their hands on the lovable Scion Xb and alright-looking Xa. Then, they were sold elsewhere. So I probably didn't see them sold around that time. And heck, I joined GTPlanet on December 5, 2003, and I SURELY didn't see any wheels on sale, if you said they were out since December.
