Buy FH3 now or wait for FH4?

I just got a Xbox One X and Forza 7, and I've been kicking around the idea of getting Forza Horizon 3 but I feel like I'm too late to the game. Should I bother picking up Forza Horizon 3 now, or just wait until Forza Horizon 4? Forza 7 is keeping me pretty busy right now, but I don't want to pickup a game and 3 months later a newer version comes out.

I say go for it, FH4 will very likely have a different map so it will probably have a different feel than FH3 so other than the basic gameplay itself it should be a new experience.

Buy Forza Horizon 3, no question. I like Forza Motorsport 7, but I find Horizon 3 so much more enjoyable since the racing more frantic, there is more much more to do outside racing and the festival atmosphere makes the game feel more alive. In addition, there are plenty of Forzathon challenges to complete over the coming months and an Xbox One X enhanced patch coming in January, so the game is still in its prime.

Even though a sequel to the Horizon series is likely to happen this year, it has not been confirmed and if the Forza series branches out into another field of racing, you are going to be kicking yourself for not trying out FH3 earlier. And even if next year's title ends up being Horizon 4, 10 months is far too long to get a feel of the Horizon festival.

Just got it and an Xbox 1 X this week. Great game. Their obvious marketing target of 18-25 year olds is a little off putting if you are not part of that demographic, but the core of the game is a solid arcade racer.

Try FH2, even after 300h in FH3 its still gorgeous, especially comparing with not-enchanted FH3 xbox version.

I haven't been part of that demographic for a while, and I didn't see the game marketing to that demographic at all.

I mean, obviously the game is built on the "extreme sports" model, but I thought the entire presentation was tongue-in-cheek and ridiculously over the top with an edge of satire - made obvious in the Timeless FM classical music station where the DJ is dripping with sarcasm over #Forzathon and "Skill Songs."

In any case, I think the game is great - sitting perfectly in the arcade / sim sweet spot - and the most fun I've had with a driving game.
