Yep, I'll probably spend most of my time trying to find lost carts, or doing carry-outs. Luckily I work Warehouse, and do not have too much direct interaction with the customers. Because the customers can be a little insane in big groups around the holidays.

I'm a "Key Staff/Head Cashier," so I get to be in charge of all the Head Cashiers and all of the "regular" Cashiers here at the local Steve and Barry's. I don't think we're doing any kind of price change, but with the whole Sarah Jessica Parker BITTEN brand and the Amanda Bynes DEAR brand, well, we're screwed. Particularly when SJP was on Project Runway this week...

This is my fourth holiday season in retail, and I'm feeling pretty good about it. For the first time in a long time we seem to have a fairly competent staff (despite working with my ex-GF and her new BF, long story), and we actually have a product line that will bring customers in. We'll see.

I would be getting up tomorrow to get a mixer at Kohl's for $200 off, but I really don't need one. And I'm broke. So, yeah... I'll let my brother brave the shopping to buy Rock Band though...

Just what I need. No excess tomorrow, though I'll have to start purchasing kitchen stuff over the weekend (So I can move out on the 1st).

I'm not going to buy anything on the 24th (technically today), but only because my cheque won't clear until Monday!

I'll probably buy something online today. Gotta buy christmas gifts and I might as well do it while they're on sale. But fighting the lines isn't worth it.

I was out there this morning. People played nice, mostly. Just few kids cutting in lines. I'd have said something, but this happend way ahead of where I was in the line.

On topic: I can't deny, I like my toys. Toys(vids, DVDs, etc.) go on big sale, I don't care what day it is, I'd be interested. This "Black Friday" was my third try, I believe. I got everything I wanted, then some. I don't think I did anything wrong. I bought stuff that I was going to buy anyway, but paid lot less money for them. :D

Yeah, if I do any shopping today, it'll be online as well. I couldn't imagine waking up at some ungodly hour just to wait in line at an overcrowded store.

God I can just see it...

Typical idiots running around + special day of those idiots running around with their head cut off = stepping out the door of your home is suicide

In the morning, it's not that bad. During the day though, it can turn nightmarish. Yes, I went back around noon. I got stuck in the parking lot for about 15 minutes, I got the hell out of there. I drove by front of BestBuy store(to pick up my order), and that's as close as I got. :nervous:

I happened to be driving by the mall at 4:00am before the "festivities" began, and there was a lot of traffic in the area as people scurried to line up in front of various stores. When I returned about 12 hours later to go to work, I saw a woman struggling to carry seven large bags to her car.

Dumb.

The one by Great Lakes Crossing I presume, that place is nuts on Black Friday....I'll be there :p

Acctually working retail on this day isn't anywhere as close to as bad as it sounds. I also work up at Best-Buy, and it was honestly quite a bit less hectic than most saturdays. For the most part 5-10am it just handing customers what they want from the ads (I work in camers/d-slrs/camcorders/cellphones/mp3) after that 90% of the people you see are just looking, hell today I spent most of my time standing around doing nothing for a good 4 hours (combined time over the day) and after about 5pm, it was really slow and i spent most of my time cleaning up D.I.

I stayed outside best buy for 9 and 1/2 hours for a 500gb external (which isn't working with my computer right now :grumpy:).

Did not shop on "Black Friday".
Did shop some after.
MOST of Christmas shopping is done.

Didn't shop of Black Friday. Not a conscious decision. I did find myself in Best Buy and the Mall the next day, but I only looked at TVs, shoes and girls. Nothing bought.

And is this the only time two "holidays" are found on the same day, both with opposite motivations? Or maybe it's just one holiday because both are like a half?
