So i've recently got sick of the poor plastic quality on my heavily duct taped Logitech G35, so I planted it rapidly into my desk... Broke into a thousand pieces. Was the plan though so GG.

Now, i'm in the need of a new headset. It will be used to gaming on PC and movies mostly.

Requirements:

- Must work flawlessly on PC, a big plus if it works on PS4 (but not required)
- Good build quality (unlike the G35, pfft)
- Good sound (bass/sound quality/surround)
- Good durability (I don't want to buy a new every now and then)
- Preferably wired (but no problem with wireless if there is a better option)
- Comfortable to wear over long sessions (I don't want to take it off every now and then just because its not comfortable enough)
- A good mic (with decent/good noise cancellation)
- Good noise cancellation from outside noise
- Might be more, but that's it for now

If possible:

- As cheap as possible, but I have no issues paying i.e $50/$100/$150 more if I can get a better one
- USB-port headset

Not really payed to much attention to headsets the recent years, as the G35 did the work for me.
But now i'm looking to upgrade, well I must anyway.

So, i've checked a bit at the Sennheiser PC 363 D GAME headset, and it's got some good reviews, specially when it comes to gaming.

But i'm really just looking for good suggestions to headsets.

Look into the Steelseries Siberia V2. The mic is alright, sound is good, and it's an insanely comfortable headset.

I did have one of those a while back, might not be the exact model, but it looks very similar.

Not comfy at all. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion though, but it probably will be the same as I had. Ear scratching...

Here's one that I tought of immediately; (HyperX Cloud)

As the video explains, it's pretty good all around, and especially since it's the first headset the company has created.

You can also check out their other reviews, and also their website (just search up Hardware Canucks) for reviews.

I have a Turtle Beach P11 for my PS3. I've had it for about 1 and a half years with no problems. I has a very long cable and fantastic sound quality. When I got it, it cost £30 from amazon. Also it is compatible with PC and works very well with it.

I have the Tritton 720+ and I love using it. Yes, it works on PC (as long as you have an optical out) and it'll work on the PS4 as well.

  • The build quality is fantastic on this thing and I don't feel like i'll break it without actually wanting to purposely break it.
  • The sound, to me, is great*
  • Alas, I had to replace my 720 because of a loose cable that caused audio loss but because I was under warranty, it didn't take long. Madcatz worked with me after I had lost my reciept and Gamestop (where I bought the headset) weren't sending them a replacement reciept (for whatever reason). One week later, I was shipped a new 720+.**
  • I've done 7 hours sessions a plenty with my 720+ and never found them uncomfortable even though I wear glasses.
  • I haven't really done a mic test per-se but people who I chat with tell me that I come over very clearly with little to no distortion of sound at all (as compared to my previous Turtle Beach PX3s)
  • The 720+ doesn't have active noise cancellation but the ear cups sit so snug on your ears that you really can't hear people or any noise around you unless it's like a megaphone or something.
  • It's pricey at $149.99 (when I bought it, it may be lower now).
  • It needs a USB port for power as well as data but you won't get the whole shebang with using just the USB cable and no optical.) *edit* Seems Amazon UK have some great prices on these.
  • This is a wired headset with a more-than-long-enough cable for 99.9% of consumers who use this headset.
*Mileage may vary as I'm using my Recon3D to enhance sound and add Dolby and such.
**Mind you, this is Madcatz US. Maybe your experience will be different with Madcatz UK, I don't know.

TB Z22s in use here for PC, no PS4 compatibility though I believe. Great headphones.

If you are after a headset, then I think you are probably on the right track with Sennheiser actually. Chances are that the PC 360 model is the way to go over the 363D though.

With headphones there is a whole new world of options, but if you want to keep it simple we won't go there. Sometimes it's well worth keeping it simple.

I use Turtle Beach PX21 for PC/PS3. Had them for over a year now, simple plug-n-play and not overly expensive. Can also be used with 360 but I have XP500 for that :).
