Buying cars off of Ebay auctions

*A little note before I begin, I am smart enough to start auctioning after I have done background checks on the car and owner, if possible.

Just wondering, what are the pros and cons of buying cars from online auctions? how often will I get a stellar deal by sniping? what are some things I should look out for? I am planning, in the future, to buy a car.

Biggest thing I can think of is not being able to check the underside of the car for cracks in the frame, bad rust, broken parts not mentioned etc.

IMO the one of the best things to do if you are buying a car that is supposed to run and drive is to drive it, so I really don't like the idea at all.
