How do you think cars should be unlocked after buying a DLC?

Hello, just another discussion sort of thing.

Let's speculate that GT5 will have a DLC with some cars in it, lets say 8-10 supercars. Let's say that the DLC would cost maybe, $10?

Do you think after you pay the $10, should you already "own" the car in the game or should the DLC only "unlock" the cars for you to purchase with in game cr?

Own the car because I won't pay $10 to grind more.

You should have to buy them so noobs can't buy it just to get through the game the easy way. I earned my first supercar, the Dodge Viper, and then I got 500,000 from a seasonal with it and the game was never the same.

Edit: i used the money for a better Viper:tup:

Any DLC purchased should go directly to your garage.

If I'm correct, in Forza 3 (I know, I know), the DLC cars would be accessible in the arcade mode, but if you wanted one of your own to customize, you had to buy it yourself.

I'm fine with that system, as long as I can drive it straight away one way or another.

If you payed for it then it should be in your garage like the stealth and chrome line cars. But then you can't pick the color you want.

Unlock for purchase, because If somebody buys the game after DLC gets released, they basically get it all handed to them. All the challenges that make GT5 fun, the struggle for cash, needing to be a certain level to buy a car, are gone because they already have the car.

And it would be a good idea to add a Poll to this thread.

That pretty much ended with seasonal events, but if I buy a DLC I want my frigging cars and shouldn't have to buy them again in the digital world

But if you need 1,000,000cr. to buy a car you still need to do three seasonals. And you buy the DLC to gain access to the cars, not to get the cars directly. Buying cars directly with actual $$$ reminds me of buying game credits in some Barnyard-type game.

Buying DLC and not being able to use it reminds me of boring.

If people don't want to get fast car at the beginning, wait to buy the DLC. If someone wants to breeze through the game with no effort, they have every right to.

Perhaps PD could just make it optional. Buy DLC, start GT5, then it asks, "acquire cars? Y/N"

But then every 8 year old with $10 can go and screw up every aspect of online play even more than it is now.

They wouldn't be able to do anything. Just kick them. Anyone can already enter the K car seasonal from the moment of purchase and then end up in a 600+PP car. Nothing would be different.

I'm pretty sure they're going to take some of this into account. They wouldn't want someone to just pay for a download and be able to dominate. It's not Kaz's style.

When I bought the expansion pack for Burnout Paradise City I still had to unlock the cars. It was much more fun earning them instead of having them handed over in that game so I would assume I would feel the same with GT5.

That was only for the Big Surf Island DLC. The legendary and toy car packs were immediately put in your garage, which is the way DLC cars should work in GT5.

I think it should be slightly tougher seasonals where gold is you win a new car. People would try so damn hard to get it. If anything give us a few free cars that we can do what we please with since we have been screwed for so long with nothing but garbage updates and than have maybe some optional paid car packages.

There should be an option for non-gamer like myself to buy a key to unlock all the $1M + cars including future DLC cars. EA does that with SHIFT.

Done. Lemme know if I need to add any options to it 👍
Looks good, I can't think of any options right now, it really doesn't need any, but there is a (GRAMMAR NAZI ALERT!!!) typing error on the third option. 👍

I agree 👍

I believe they would go to "Car Delivery" in the same way we get gifted cars, coupon cars (stealth etc). I personally prefer them to go to arcade and dealership but it wont bother me otherwise, I'll probably delete them if they are gifted to me and buy them as I wish.

The speculation is great but does anyone know how it will actually work? Has this been revealed by PD yet?

My opinion:
I'd like the cars available for purchase but not "given" to me. One of the cars is the new Red Bull car which can destroy anything else out there. Handing that car to anyone for a few $ will ruin the integrity of the game play (my opinion of course). I do like the idea of having the cars available in arcade mode, kind of like the PSP cars.

The cars are delivered to your Car Delivery truck. That's it.

Any news on what the "special bonus" will be to make up for the late release?
