Buying fuel/gas/petrol in GT3

I was thinking that it would ne a cool idea to have a garage in GT3 where you HAVE to go fill up - and it costs you a different amount depending on which car you have to fill up - This would get rid of the problem of having too much money left over - And your car would be slower when full - Meaning you would have to judge how much gas/petrol to put in your beast - Only a quarter full if you have a 3 or 5 lap race but a full tank of you're doing an enduro
What does everyone think ??? jw :D :D :D

That's kind of a cool idea, although it would probably be difficult to accurately model the changing fuel loads' affect on car behaviour. And you've already got an element of race distance planning with the tyre life issue.

Its a good idea though - Its just like the oil change but a bit more advanced - Hey i might even write off to the game's producers and make a million !!!! jw :D :D :D

That would be great for the enduros - but they'd need to fix the AI pit and fuel strategy first.

Re the handling - have you noticed the cars are a bit slidey on the first lap - more so than in qualifying. Maybe it's already modelled to a degree

I think the cars handle worse on the 1st lap than in qualifying as a driver would be using a very soft sticky compound in qualifying (only needing 1 or 2 fast laps out of them) as opposed to a harder tyre compound during the race.Just my opinion,i'm probably wrong. :)

I think that has to do with accurately modeled tires. They start off blue (cold) and approach green, which is warm but in good shape. The later stages of yellow are when I see the best performance. This could be because of repeated laps on good tires (persistance makes perfect?), or because the tires are just getting into their prime.

I ve found that when the tires are yellow they perform best - Blue is siilair to red as the tires have no grip yet and green is a bit better than blue but (especially my only one F1 car ) I found better grip on yellows - Ireckon they are at optimum race grip and temperature jw :D :D :D

Nup- you can nominate your tyre choice for qualifying.

funny.......i find i get the best tire performance right after all the blue is gone  ......that is when they are up to proper operating temperature .......from there on, they just degrade

i thnk this is a good idea cuz then it would be racing and then when u do a two player can could chose how much fuel to put in for those long races:burnout:

Exactly km - You would have to judge it exactly right to get you to the end of a race - If you get it wrong yo urun out of gas then stop inches away from the finish line !! jw :D :D :D

You could then press the 'triangle' button to get out and push!

All of these are great ideas but you would have to wait a while to get them with another GT for the PS3 cause its too much for the PS or maybe the X-Box which it will never come out for.. just an opinion

Have a tow truck come get your car, or push it, or shoot it, lol j/k. This is a little off subject, but I think damage should be incorporated. The game is very realistic, except for this and a couple other aspects. You can't scrape a wall at 220 mph for 150 feet and just keep truckin, realistically.....can you??

Hey all, well, I was just running the, (or trying to run, lol), roadster enduro race and thought of this whole fuel thing that must've come up while I was in the race.. I think fuel would be a great issue to have to deal with. And to anybody who thinks this is a modeling feat that would be too hard to deal with, what about all the F1 games that do it? (best being F1 2001 by EA) I would love having to deal with fuel issues on the way in pit lane, pairing that with planned tire life could make an enduro lots of fun. Same with a 2p, as somebody mentioned. As for adding in visual damage, that would really be pushing the system past its limits, at least with the complicated modeling that's already taking place. (not to say I don't want it, because I do!) I'm now going to go post a question on the roadster enduro because I kinda sucked, lol :(
peace,

:p I wonder if it's on the GT4.. Well, I hope Polywhatever would consider that idea in the next Gran Turismo. But I think I saw something like SHELL Logo in one of the race courses. It really would be challenging to have your car refueled and can't race with it without gas.. :p

But what if you got "ZERO" in your accounts and have no more gas in your ONLY car... could you still race without gas?

loans, have to race to pay for your gas if you run outta money :D if you race and don't earn enough to pay gas and you are broke, you get banned from the GT scene and have to start all over. but winning money wouldn't be that hard so that wouldn't really be an issue for someone who really liked to play.. I think that would be pretty sweet, but I'm prolly the only one, hehehe
peace,
