That's not a case mod, that's a custom component.

WOW!

THAT IS AMAZINGLY useless.

A cigarette lighter and beverage holder. Wouldn't a Zippo and solid desk surface work the same?

Plus, case mods are just a waste of money and space. Give me an old school $25 beige tower any day over some $300 case with seizure-inducing lights and a clear window. Functionality > Looks, it's always true (unless it comes to women, then it's a 50/50 balance.)

Hey now, I'm an owner of three of those $300 case mods, one for each computer, and I must say that you are completely correct.
Except for one "case" (pun intended):

And Omnis is right: This isn't actually a case mod.

Awesome! I love it.

What are the specs, and how is the cooling?
I have a friend working on a project exactly like this. He's thinking of using a shuttle mobo, PSU, and cooling components but is looking for other options before purchasing them.

What's the point? A Bic lighter does the work of cig lighter, and cell phones come with free wall chargers anyway. Plus, coasters (which allow more than just one drink to put somewhere) on any level surface is good for drinks. A pack of coasters plus a bic lighter totals to about $10, why waste 30 times that on that thing?

@Toronado:

Shuttle cases and Mini-ATX cases are cool. One guy ran a system in a Windows XP retail box. Pretty nifty.

But when it comes to stuff like this, it's ridiculous.

I sure hope you guys all realize that the only reason for this stuff is to be ridiculous. That's why they made it.

That idea kicks ass! I'd love to have a pc in a NES case 👍 :dopey:

Oh. My. God.

Do you actually own a PC built into a NES case? That's awesome!

That reminds of the PC I saw online built into a microwave oven with an LCD built into the door window. Here it is:

I think that the "mod" topic creator posted is aimed for PC racing/driving simmmers.

That's actually a somewhat valid point. Sure, as MachOne pointed out, a desk and ordinary lighter can get the job done, but a racing wheel (and shifter, for those of you with G25s or that Act-Labs thing) can take up plenty of desk space, which is something not all of us have in spades (half of my computer desk is actually covered in magazines and random mail or pieces of paper, and my left speaker sits on top of the pile  ).

A PC-mounted cupholder and a cigarette lighter already designed to be used while driving make a bit more sense for a racing-simmer...but only a bit.

I hate to say it, but I have the mod that trumps all others.

An Italian gentleman that goes by the alias, G69T on Bit-tech.net, works at a company using multiple machining tools. His specialty, though, is with a CNC machine (as you'll soon see).

NOTE!!!
Every single part on the case was either hand-built, or custom CNC'd (including the bolts/nuts).

Awesome. That looks like a computer that Dethklok would use. :sly:

I just have an ordinary black case, but one of my CD drives is beige. I don't really care how the computer looks, as long as it's reasonably fast and reliable.

I went expensive with my case, but you don't see any internals, so it's not as clean as it could be on the inside, but it smokes for how old it is. :)
