ANy one get the new RHCP's CD? I got it and all I can say is that its really different.

Yep, got it the day it was released.

S'okay, i guess, couple of tracks suck but most of it's good. Will never be as major as californication. But worth having.

Head Rot Pilly Chepers released a new album? Gonna have to check it out for sure! What's the name of it? How is it different? Does it still have Flea funkin' it on the bass?

The new album is called 'By the way'

It's a lot more.... mature / polished / safe ?

Imagine the leap from 'Blood Sugar Sex Magic' to 'Californication' well it's a similar leap from 'Californication' to 'By the way'.

One of the tracks, you'll have to excuse me i can't remember the name of the track, sounds a bit 70's to me.

The title track is superb and so are some of teh others but one or two of them are bloody awful.

BTW Flea is my hero cause he plays the bass so damn well. I wish I could play that good

Oh yeah the base funk thing is as good as ever, it's a good album. If you were played any one of the tracks you would recognise it as RHCP straight off.

Worth buying, but not worth paying full price for. Unless you're really in to them that is.

Oh right on! Well, still worthy to have in the collection I imagine. BTW, I saw "By The Way" as the title and wasn't sure if it was "BTW" or the actual title of the CD. Thanks for the clarification.

I sussed immediately that the thread was going to be about the new album by RHCP.

I meant i got caught out with the title the first time i heard of it!
