I'm pretty sure I have already seen this posted in GTP.
Did you search it prior to posting?

They got a few little things wrong in there like 'only 3 RUF's' and stuff, but the general theme of 'they're great games, get both if you can' is spot on.

What's sad is that their review was more comprehensive and correct than most of the game-specific magazine/website reviews I read. Very fair and honest, and just outlined the specifics of each title and how they compared.

Well, that's probably because they're not a gaming website... They don't over-analyse stuff and are probably not as biased towards either console.

In short . . . their review matches my sentiments . . . if you love driving and racing . . . own both.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

As much as I bash GT5, I still bought it and still play it.

Same here. Though there are many things that get me irritated, such as the gear ratios thing, etc, I still have played it just about every day since I got it on Christmas.

It sort of feels like Pokemon to me, the original ones. The races and events are like battles, and the new car dealership and UCD are like the tall grass areas where you can capture the pokemon, and upgrading the cars is like leveling up the pokemon...

Maybe I played pokemon too much back in the day...?

I've been a subscriber to Car and Driver for a few years now and they always manage to convey honest and entertaining explanations of both cars, and now video games! I've never played Forza 3, but I own the first two, and at least compared to GT5 I'd say Car and Driver's article is spot on!

I absolutely agree with them. I love how they are unbiased (unlike some sites *cough IGN *cough) They provide a good comparison that shows both the weaknesses and strengths of each game. just wish that all fanboys (both GT and forza fanboys) would shutup and enjoy both games for what they are.

I would however still say the GT5 is better than Forza (not being a fanboy) because the system that polyphony worked with was much more powerful than that that forza had. but if they were on the same console, i swear that both would be the best realistic driving simulators on console!

Werd. 👍 No point in hating one or the other when both are good games!

I also agree. People of either camp will bash the other, and yet at the end of the day, if people own both consoles, they will most likely own both games... unless of course they don't like racing games, in which my post is just wasted breath :D

They're both great games, theres no denying that.

Indeed, it really is pretty simple. Racing fans and gaming fans in general will want to own both and should own both. Fanboys, well, they're fanboys and as much as we'd like, they'll never dissapear. It is sad though, I just can't understand loving cars enough to like GT series but not want to play another version of it, basically.

We don't need another GT5 vs. FM3 thread. Even if the comparison is being done by a professional publication.

Thread closed.
