C: Official GTP 3D Modelling Competition 1

This is the first computer animation competition for GTPlanet.

The Rules:

• model the image provided
  
• you may only use the programs that you will be modelling/rendering the object in no photoshop touchups or any other editing done post-render
  
• model must be your own, you cannot download a mesh or wireframe off of a website
  
• image must be 800x600 or smaller
  
• your entry must be a jpeg format or other common image format, no animated gifs

You know that it's impossible to animate a JPEG, right?

Yeah, what i mean is you have to render whatever you made in this case your cobra and save the image as a jpeg

Where does the animation part come in?

I'd love to do something like this, but I don't have the patience to learn a 3d rendering program.

The animation part comes in where you model the cobra

But you can't animate a JPEG, so what the hell is the point in animating something that you can't animate?

By animate do you just mean render? I'm just confuzzled.

no,

you have to model the cobra, using bryce, maya or some other 3d modelling program

after you have finished modelling the cobra, you render the model so you can save it as a jpeg or bmp, or whichever

then you post the jpeg in this competition

I was gonna say damn how come nobody told me about this but looking at what we have to make, I would be hard pressed to even have the time to make that. I bit much for the first contest, eh?

Only 2 people tops can do anything remotely decent in this competition.

I'm with what Giancarlo said. 2/3'rds of us don't know how to render any 3D modelling stuff, unless it's in a program like Terragon, which does most of it itself.

If you can postpone this competition for like another week or atleast enough time for me to get my 3ds max to work, you'll have 3 entries
