C7 Corvette in GT5?

Many times, I've come across automotive internet articles that have photos of a new car in the context of GT5 imagery. The latest is a concept C7 Corvette that is clearly on Tokyo R246.

This proves either that PD does more work than we give them credit for, or that photoshop is a fav tool for marketing campaigns. It's weird though that they would use GT5 as a background and no other games.

btw: Those fins in front look like the one's on the Ferrari 458 Italia.

It looks generated with GT graphics. And the huge Gran Turismo logo at the left is a good hint. Nice find.

It wouldn´t be surprising, and not the first time PD does promotionals for manufacturers. Remember the special GT4 disc that featured the "new" BMW 1 series? There was also one for the Toyota Prius.

Also, remember the promotional video thet PD made for the early concept of the Toyota FT86. So yes, this is possible.

I read an article yesterday that the next corvette will begin production in 2013, and will go on sale in 2014. I doubt they have the final design laid out by now. Will probably be spring of next year, then they'll do testing 6 months to a year before mass production. I'd wait for the "black mask" ring pictures before I made any assumptions on what it will look like, let alone expect it to be in GT5. GT6 most likely.

The second one was in the auto news section from 2 years ago so is a fake, the new one probably is edited too.
 
Recently Chevy said they will be revealing the new Corvette soon. Perhaps this will go with the reveal?
 
I thought the c7 is supposed to have a split back window and striking similarities to the Citroen GT...

It looks like a heavy and randomly modified C6. I would expect a cleaner looking car.
 
It's the same as with the Ferrari Concept pictures, they just used some GT5 screenshots as backgrounds.
 
The original pictures were SLS AMG Tokyo R246 GT5 pics, the C7 concept was not rendered in GT5.

I actually find it amusing GT5 pictures have been used for concept edits quite a lot (none from official sources mind you)

Awww.... Every site says that the c7 would be similar to the stingray concept!
 
I still dont even believe jalopnik. When chevy wants to keep something secret they can do a mighty fine job. When they first started working with c6zo6 they allowed absolutely no visitors on the corvette grounds. They did the same with zr1 when it was still the blue devil (this is before i went deaf). I remember stopping at the gas station right in front of the plant one day and the "track" around the plantwas closed but you could hear somebody going balls to the wall in something that was a beast. Track opened up about an hour later and there was an uber fresh burnouttracks and drift tracks where some killed some tires
