Beginning in 2004, Cadillac would return to racing for the first time since its LMP effort. The series would be World Challenge and the car they would use: the Cadillac CTS-V. In an effort to heavily promote GM's new Performance division as well as Cadillac's new performance version of the popular sedan, the CTS-V would be raced in the championship. The car featured a 5.7L Overhead Valve V8, putting out around 500 Horsepower at 7600 RPM. Over a span of five years, the Cadillac CTS-V would dominate the World Challenge series with multiple wins and championships for both Driver and Manufacterer. This would add the first Cadillac Race car to GT as well as THE car that started Cadillac's winning return to racing.
