Well it seems we don't have any current threads for the new CTS-V Sportwagon.

This is sort of like a dream come true. We're already madly in love with the Cadillac CTS-V in both its sedan and sexy coupe forms, and in just a few months, we'll have a five-door station wagon version that still packs the V's 556-horsepower supercharged V8, rear-wheel drive and a proper manual transmission. It's like General Motors made this one just for us (we aren't complaining). Want one? $62,990, including destination charges.

So, what does $63K get you other than some family haulin' lunacy on wheels? Leather, heated seats, navigation, HID headlamps, a premium Bose sound system and Cadillac's premium care maintenance service for four years or 50,000 miles. Optional goodies include the $3,400 Recaro heated and ventilated front chairs (you want these – trust us), $800 19-inch polished aluminum alloys, $600 for slightly fancier wood trim and $300 for suede on the steering wheel and shifter.

Realistically, you can get a perfect CTS-V Wagon with a six-speed manual and the Recaro seats for $66,390. That, folks, is one heck of a bargain. As great as it is, we're thinking that GM won't manage to sell a whole bunch of this very niche product, so we're thinking it's an easy pick for a future collectible. Hit the jump to read GM's official press blast.

Yup, $63k will get you into the new super wagon. Forget the E63, I want one of these now. It seems like the perfect car for the enthusiast who needs something more than the standard family sedan.

Or am I alone in wanting one of these?

Oh and did they mention that it comes with a manual?

I would totally get the Benz over this.

I feel like the CTS-V was designed to be a wagon. It's perfect, and honestly, the price really isn't too bad either.

A shame it's completely out of my price range.

My son would probably go for the wagon, and it isn't bad looking. I would rather have the coupe or sedan.

Is it bad that I think there's too LITTLE rear overhang, thus making it look like an AMC Gremlin?

The C (D?) pillar the size of Texas kills it for me. Hello massive dead spot.

Try sitting in the Coupe.

But according to the stickers I saw today, these cars are up to $70K (CTS-V Coupe: $70K, CTS-V Sedan: $72K) & that's not very far from some of the Germans.

Wow I'd like one of those over the starngely hatchback-ish looking coupe. Probably would get the sedan though for the most originality,

Meh, looks fat. And not the fat that I like. I'll take the German alternative. I cannot see myself paying $60k+ for any American car regardless of the brand affixed to it (that doesn't wear a Ford GT badge anyway).

What fat do you like? :odd:

Not even a Z06 & above? Or a Viper?

Hmmm.... Not bad looking. I will just wait and see if I can see it in action. I also don't like that huge pillar in the back.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing... but it looks tiny. As in... not very useful. While I'm sure it's a big-boned car, like any car in it's class these days, it somehow looks a lot smaller than the sedan.

That said, it still is a badass wagon. The badassest, really. But I'd want an E63 wagon over it if I had that as an option... which i don't.

Would take it over the oddly-shaped coupe though. That thing just reminds me of the C-Class coupe with a Caddy reskin :(.

I don't like how the CTS wagon is proportioned. The front looks big and bold, and the rear with the tiny windows just make the car seem like it's shrinking away. I like how the Mercedes wagon is proportioned better. For some reason, from the side, the CTS wagon really reminds me of the Saab 9-3 SportCombi.

What is Cadillac thinking?

This really seems like an answer to a question no one really asked. Caddy wants to ditch the reputation of being an old-person's car...so they make a wagon? The engine doesn't really matter; perception/looks are everything. The wagon looks, um, polarizing and Caddy is perceived as a company that makes land-yachts for old people. This car will not help correct that image.

What young professional is going to buy a Cadillac wagon for AMG/M-Car/RS money? That's the competition and Caddy falls short on every front that really matters (looks, reputation, badge egoism).

But it's a 556hp wagon at that. Based off CTS hardware. Not really a car I'd even associate with the grandpa DTS and STS.
