With Formula 1 not being able to go to Watkins Glen on a very short notice in 1981, a temporary street circuit was made in the parking lot of the Caesars Palace resort in Las Vegas. Surprisingly, it was of good quality for being temporary, with sufficient runoff on every corner, plenty of room for overtaking, and a smooth road surface.
