Time to dig up an old thread. Would anybody care to comment on the multiplayer component of COD3 for PS3? I've read a few reviews that note frame-rate issues in campaign mode, though I'd be interested to know how the PS3 version performs where it really matters. If the MP mode is comparable (frames and online performance), it might be time to pension off the 360.

Thoughts appreciated.:)

People making this game have said in interviews that this will be a launch title despite the official release date stating "Fall."

I hope it is, because I'm getting it. Perhaps, it's the only game I will get at launch.

Well? Did you get it? What do you think?

From what I've heard, there's no ranked multiplayer. But that's it.

Duck, I'm aware of the difference in features (such as the lack of rankings and voice support) though I'm more concerned with frame-rate and online performance.

Oh, okay. I don't know what you're wanting to know, though. :indiff:

He's wanting to know how the game performs in MP Online. Are there performance hits with Online play for example.

And I'll answer.

None.

Playing with a wireless connection, I've had zero lag. Actually, I did have a little bit one time, but my friend was also playing CSS so that may have been cutting me down. There is one glaring flaw though between X360 and PS3, apart from the rankings and such. There is no voice support...yet(?).

Voice support isn't a high priority for me. I tend to go for death matches (360 version), so there's little need for communication. Further, listening to bunch of whiny little punks (calling each other "nig***s") is not my idea of a good time. Incidentally, for those who have COD3 on 360, be sure to download the new Champs map. Great fun. 👍
