As a single player experience, this is superior to MW2 but not as good as MW1. Online, it isnt quite up there with either MW games, but MW1 is better than MW2 by a long way, both on and offline.

^ The Truth. WaW sucked except for Nazi Zombies.

WaW didnt suck. It was just overshadowed by the upcoming MW2, which in my opinion was overhyped and overrated. Infinity Ward tried to cram too much into it, especially the online side, which if you are an inexperienced player was too hard and damn near unplayable. Too many powerful toys for the experienced players to use on the novices.

I also think MW1 is better than MW2 in everything, I liked the game system of MW1, rather I was disappointed with MW2(The gun sound in MW1 was superior and the characters in MW2 spoke only in Japanese)

Playing WaW more than MW2 these days. The single player, although starting to show it's age looks-wise, still manages to thrill more than MW2 could ever hope to do. But there is one aspect of it's online play that really annoys me. If you haven't purchased all the map packs from the PSN store, then you are limited to what you can do since many people tend to play the new maps. I hate spending ages finding a game only to be kicked out because I don't own that particular map! Treyarch should have incorporated some sort of filter system that only allows you to access games with the maps you own(in my case, the ones that came on the disc). I grudge having to fork out for a few extra maps just so I can play online matches regularly.

I've heard from my Japanese friend that many players playing the multiplayer of World at War are prone to play on new maps, despite the fact that they already have some ones available since they start the online play in it, therefore the players who don't own extra maps which are newly to be added as new ones we can play have disadvantages that they can't enjoy the battles with as many other players as possible, also they aren't able to know what the new maps are actually like, features we can't find just by seeing the outlook of the map packs.

I've nothing against people who play the new maps, it's just that I wish the game would check for matches incorporating ONLY the maps I have. Having to wait to get into a lobby, then only to be kicked out because I don't own that map is a real pain.

I decided to pop this game in today and try and unlock the sniper scope for the M1 garand. It took me nearly 4 hours just to get the 150 kills I needed. MP40 juggernoobs were out in in full force. I ended up playing one game with it and I had to quit as I had a massive headache by then.

I played this again tonight. The MP40 is still obnoxious. I had a good time playing with my Unscoped mosin-nagant though. Best game of the night was 17-0 on round house using my bolt action hero class. 👍

The bolties are always fun, infact it's basically the only way I played the game whether scoped or often not I used to mostly use those weapons and specifically the Nagant given choice. They're just satisfying to use and get kills with giving me, who I'd call an above average player, a bigger challenge against all the MP40s and STGs etc. Plus the bayonet was a good laugh to .

I like the bayonet. Knifing is very connection dependent though. I often think I've got someone only to end up sliced up like a christmas ham.

Played this again, I forgot this game actually was quite good... I don't know why I dismissed it so quickly last time around... Hmm. But yeah, WaW>MW2 for sure. But MW1>WaW or MW2.

MW1 is the best first person shooter for sure. I love it's simplicity yet it demands so much too. The only thing I can't stand though is that there are no assist points. :(

WaW online was really unbalanced. The only thing that kept me coming back was private lobbies and zombies. I still prefer the original zombie map though, even compared to the ones I've tried in Black Ops.

I'm new to black ops so I'm not going to get a new FPS any time soon. I can't wait to see the response towards MW3 though. I like the MW engine better than Black Ops's engine. It just seems much smoother and more precise.

Anybody know when the Servers will be shut down? I assume it will be soon because of whatever the new CoD's name is coming out. It will be a sad day for me. WaW is still my favorite CoD to date :(

Probably not for a long time. COD3s servers are still up, as is COD4s
