Need some help guys.
I am currently racing Bspec mode of World Classic Car Beginner Event and my Camaro drivers just kept on downshifting in the long straightaway in Mulsanne(La Sarthe/No chicanes). I always end up losing the race.

Is there a way to train my drivers(level 17-23) to refrain from downshifting in the 2nd chicane area?
I've finished the Aspec mode of that race and I thought training the AI to push the car's 5th gear to the maximum will carry over when I go in Bspec, but nothing affects the Bspec drivers on that particular area.
Or is it just a Bspec bug?

For your drivers to carry any speed, you:
1. need a Red (hot) driver
2. pace up constantly
3. test your car out, and (vaguely) set your transmission to the max speed you can go in A-spec.

Once you've done the above, You should be able to win it.

If all else fails, then do any one of the seasonals, and use the funds to maxx out your car. You cant lose with a maxed out car:dunce:

But downshifting on that long straight will make you lose alot...Sounds real weird.

Thanks guys! I actually maxed out the camaro and got it RM'ed. I did win it but still my drivers downshift on the 2nd chicane. He's really weird!!

Sounds like a glitch where the driver is trying to slow down for the chicane. All I can suggest is to keep pressing speed up down the back straight until your driver levels up. There was a similar glitch on daytona where B Spec drivers kept braking over the finish line, but eventually it stops as you level up.

I guess you're right. I just got my best driver to level25 and now he just let go of the accelerator for half a second and doesn't anymore downshift to 4th gear. If this is how he behaves on long straights, then on most corners on any track, there are just too many possible improvements he can make. Even if I limit my car within the same BHP and PP of my opponents, my drivers can still improve for the better.
It feels very RPG to me. Even if I don't see the details, the skills are slowly improving somehow. Track/Car exposure can also be the key to let drivers make most of its potential.
