The Camaro ZL1 Replica Spec Tune

Before you get P.O'ed at me :D take a few minutes to try out this replication of the New Camaro ZL1, The specs are near spot on, and it is one awesome car to drive. The car is dialed in to the hp (very close tq) & weight of the newly reveled Camaro ZL1, also using a supercharger, she is tuned to hit the same top speed.

Specs
580hp
561ft-lb
1868kg

Tuned on 2.11

I did use adjustable parts to tune the suspension in, I kept the tune modest & versatile, she feels as comfortable on the 'Ring as she does carving Daytona Road track. She is heavy tipping the scale at 1868kg. While it is modified, its built to a factory spec, so its more along the lines of a ZL1 stock spec on adjustable parts :D

She is tuned on Sports Hard Tires, but to run Sport Soft Tires & with all driving assist turned off including ABS. I tuned her with the DFGT on Sim no power assist, & tested her with a DS3 0 assist. Tuning on Sports Hard makes sure the tune is on point before getting soft tires. Just a great car to drive.

Enjoy the Tune

Keep in mind, the limiter will need to be adjusted to your millage, mine is around 250miles on the ODO, the limiting will be very minimal.

She needs a oil change, wing & some Rims in GTAuto, you can add ground effects if you like as I did.

Edit
Now the ZL1 can lap the 'Ring along side Lambo's and Porsche's, the ZL1 is running 7:41 at The Nurb, equip Sport Medium Tires and go after the Lap Time. :D I think SM Tires are more like the MPSC tires used on the 7:41 time and ZR1 7:19 time.

Who can lap the 'Ring the fastest with the New ZL1 Camaro is the Question

I got a very nice and fast Camaro SS '10 tuned for 500PP @ Nurburg. I offline on real grip throwdown 6'58"xxx. But online it's faster, never got a accurate solo time. But its faster then most CSL's and NSX's at 500PP. I'll post shortly if you would like, but you will need no upgrades. (That effect PP, I put full aero except for rear wing. As that increases PP.) You can buy all other parts though. So you will need a brand new one

I was just browsing the fourms and I saw the thread title. I instantly thought that the actual ZL1 was coming to GT5 for a second. Still, I will give this replica a try. :)

Thread title changed.

Anyone viewing this will get the wrong impression and you'll surely be blamed for it, so let's avoid that altogether.

I admit it was a little bit of a gimmick to lure people into the thread, I figure a few laps in the ZL1 Replica will ease the tension :sly: Thanks for giving it a try, I'm confident you wont be disappointed. :D

No doubt, the Camaro SS is a great base car, but this tune is not for making superb lap times at a PP rating because its so pigish over weight. Much lower hp with at the same time much less weight keeping the PP will churn a much faster car. This is to replicate the ZL1 Camaro and what it is capable of.

But much thanks for your interest and checking out the thread )

Sadly the Camaro's engine wont get up to 700hp let alone the 720hp I was after to build the Lingenfelter edition ZL1.

So Ive decided to build the Lingenfelter ZR1 :D

Anybody give it a try yet? I was able to chop off serious time with this set up compared to other ZL1 replicas Ive tried. Beyond lap times though, its just a blast to drive. Cutting up the ring as if it ain't no thing.

Hey Fast, Try switching you ECU out for the Ex and/or Intake Manifold that should kick the torque up and keep your HP close to what you want.

edit: Saw the torque was too high. Eh? no clue how to help there man.

Yeah, getting the TQ a lil lower has been a problem. Running the ECU gives me the best gap between the HP ad TQ, without it they get even closer, good looking out though, thanks for the suggestions.

I seen another replica that gets lower tq from not getting an oil change, but thats not a good solution when his tune is not for a fully broken in car. The HP and tq still build up and I cant run a car with dirty oil just to hit a lower tq number. With the power never staying at 580hp for too long I had to accept the extra TQ to maintain a spec tune.

Have you given the tune a try? The suspension set up on this tune is on point. I beefed up a second Camaro to build the Lingenfelter edition before squashing it from lack of power, I tossed this suspension set up on it as a base to work off, and it was just too good to mess with. Maybe Ill release that version anyways as it is a much faster car with more power and less weight.

I looked up the specs for the ZL1 and I could only find one with a 550hp and 550tq. I got one tuned close to that sitting at 550hp and 555tq with 98.8% limiter. It is a very good car. Have you tried doing the engine upgrade stage one to get the numbers your looking for? Stage 1 engine and the SC should get you really close.

Specs for the ZL1 are 580hp, most likely at the crank and Im pretty sure the HP reading in game are at the crank also not the wheel. 550hp probably whp.

Thats a good idea, always just so sketchy to get a mod that I cant put on and off in different configurations to get at a target. Ill give it a try tonight see if it gaps the TQ more, basically what I need to do is space the hp and tq a little further apart but most mods just pull them closer together lol

Give the suspension settings a try, guaranteed good times :sly:

Tried them I liked the car as a whole. I'm working on a COPO version.

Nice, glad to hear it. Yeah the New Camaro is well done, and getting refined as it goes on, Chevy earning my respect for the ZL1 & ZR1.

Wow bro, That is a sweeeet build, Ill check it out when you lay out the tune. Track Beast no doubt once all put together I bet. Later on I plan to build a HPE650 SS, not just yet though as I got a few others to build first.

I felt a little compelled to build a GT500 to race the ZL1 with and see if the Replica Spec built cars would mirror at all the IRL battle between the 2 cars and its pretty close.

Listening to IRL reviews of the 2 cars its almost as if they are talking about the GT5 versions I built except the brakes on my GT500 are pretty good and consistent lol

Yeah, The Copo won't be a exact replica but I've done the math to account for the extra motor weight and I realize the car won't be spot on handling wise as the Copo is a drag strip monster. But, along side the Copo Replica tune I'll provide a track Copo tune.

I won't lie I despise Mustangs with all my being but for some reason I have a soft spot for the 71-72 Mach 1 and any of the Shelby's, Glad to hear there will be a GT500 replica might have to try it.

Im no fan of new stangs with ancient tech rear ends, I too love me some Shelby.

Got something special in the works for the GT350 :D

The GT500 is quite fun to drive, I keep going for the next lap. Lay a good run, but just having a blast ripping it around the track and kicking the rear end out in a whim and just guiding the front end to point where I want it to shoot. i wasn't expecting it to be as good, but 662hp of tire shredding power from the rear wheels screaming engine and exhaust whats not to like. Little bland to look at but it is a 2007 model lol Black paint, black rims with a silver lip, makes it look good enough for me :D

Ill definitely hit up the COPO track tune :D

I definitely did not expect them to be that easy to dial in. I got the track car running 2:08's on GVS on SS tires haven't tried it on RH and I got the Copo drag stock running mid 9's which by all accounts I can find is where it should be at. I'll post up the Tunes later though.

My Copo Is 550hp and 555ft/lbs(original is 550hp and 550ft/lbs) I couldn't find gear ratio's so I tweaked it til it would run the mid 9's on the 1/4 like the real car. I have to copy down everything and put it on here and the track tune is kinda rabid so I think that one will be a write off bc it isn't very good.

edit: I actually got to ride in a Copo and Drive a ZL1 this past weekend. and th highlight of my week I got to sit in the ONLY 2013 SRT Viper in america, the exact same car that set the standing lap record at Laguna Seca( I forgot what the guy said the time was  I was too excited to listen)

Getting it now. I hope my lengths and time's were right for the 1/4 mile times. If not it's still a very formidable drag car.

Edit: I'll go on a head and post both in the Same post and label them accordingly. Next post Copo and Copo Track tunes

Nice, Ill check it out tomorrow, took a spill off a pocket bike today so Im a lil too sore to GT lol. Lil bit of road rash n some bruises is all. But I really have no business on a pocket bike seeing how fast it can go lol...

 Been there done that and got the postcard. I know how you feel. Pocketbike, 4 wheeler, full size bike and my truck(still havent figured out exactly how it happened.)

Not long ago I stopped by at a local exotic car dealership and heard V8's revving from behind the place... Turns out it was a ZL1 Camaro meet... Really good sounding cars. I believe they have the same engine as the ZR-1 Corvette and only sell them at select dealerships
