This game is soo awesome so far! After I installed the patches it looks fantastic!!! I am also surprised with the physics and some of the gore. Bullet holes actually stay on the enemies bodies. I have just barely started playing but so far it is very fun and the graphics look great!
I actually blew fish out of the water with a grenade and they stayed floating on the top of the water. Then I took my knife out and killed the fish. I also shot a bird out of the air. Very impressive physics so far. The water also responds to bullet shots. Not like Kameo but it still responds.
I had to resize most of them because they were too big for imageshack. 17 total.

I played for another 30 minutes last night. The AI is very intelligent compared to the xbox version. I like to run out like Rambo and shoot like crazy instead of using stealth. In this game its a lot harder because of the AI. The graphics sure are nice!!! I spend more time looking around at each level then I do actually playing the game. I drove a vehicle for the first time last night. Its hard to get used to driving with a mouse and keyboard so they shot me with a rocket right away. So far I am really enjoying Far Cry and look forward to playing it hopefully to the end. 👍
I took some more screenshots and will try to get them posted some time. I still need to check out the mapmaker and the multiplayer.
 
👍 Is a beautiful game, i'm glad you've got it running at a nice high setting. I was also amazed with the way that bullets contact bodies, cool effect that you don't get on every shooter (at least not a couple of years back) :)

Got two screen shots of my own from a few months back.

Do check out the map maker, it's great. I spent a whole day creating an island map. It's just so much fun! You can jump down into the level from the editor immediately and start playing :p I created some really dark, moody sections on the island and hid some animals in there. Made for a amusing situation when i got my mate to walk around the island, he always steered clear of the dark area ;)
 
The mapmaker on the xbox version was by far my favorite part of the game. I wish every game had a mapmaker that good. So when I get a chance I will check it out for the pC for sure. I made probably 12-15 maps for the xbox version. I even made an offroad map with hill climbs, jumps, water holes, and a two track lined with trees. A lot of good times on that map.
You put animals in yours? Animals werent available on the xbox version. I like creating maps so mabey this weekend I will check the map maker out. BTW your 2 pics were nice. If you get more feel free to post them in here. I could re-title the thread to "Far cry screenshots" or something like that.

I really enjoyed Far Cry, but 2 things really annoyed me.

1) There were several spots in the game were loads of bad guys could see you from hundreds of yards away and would take potshots at you, despite the fact that you're hunched down hiding in the bushes and could barely hit them they were so far away. They should have had guys aiming recklessly for a while after you shoot from a distance before they eventually figure out from which direction you're firing. Enemy AI was a bit too aware of you.

2) The save game system. The checkpoints were really badly designed. I remember playing for about 45 minutes, killing loads of enemies and making a lot of progress, but didn't come across a checkpoint anywhere and you can't save anywhere you want, so I knew I'd die eventually and have to do it all again. Turns out I'd walked right past a couple of them. They should have made them so you couldn't walk around them by accident. Other times you seemed to be coming across checkpoints every 2 minutes.

Still, a pretty good game with some beautiful outdoor scenery and graphics. The graphics indoors were nothing to write home about though. And the monkey mutants looked like something out of game like Quake from 10 years ago.

There were some great opportunities for sniping once you picked up a sniper rifle. Places were you could hunker down behind something and pop guys in the head hundreds of yards away. I love sniping enemies in video games and having levels designed to allow you to do it.

I cant believe how beautiful some of the graphics are!! The AI is a lot harder and way more intelligent than the xbox version. Here are some more screen shots. I still spend most of my time looking at the levels. Georgous!
Look how realistic this first pic is! I have soo much more respect for computer games.

The water and island shots look better than any other game so I cant resist posting so many of them. Are there any certain pics you would like to see?
 
I am not sure. I just left the ship and I was on a little orange raft floating towards the next island. I havent played very much. I spend too much time looking at the scenery. :lol:
The last pics in post 7 show exactly where I am. I like how when you shoot a guy in the water he keeps bleeding. There is a satelite at the top of the hill that I have to go to. You can see it in the last pic.

I played for about another hour tonight. This game is sooo beautiful!! The last pic is my new desktop! I really wish they made every FPS as good as this game is. :drool: :drool: :drool: :drool:

For some reason the last 2-3 pics do not load so I apologize. I will have to re-load those 2 whenever I get a chance this week. Mabey imageshack has a bandwidth limit for each pic.
 
There is supposed to be a 360 version of this right? Is it improved much over the Xbox version because I may need to pick it up. :drool:

The xbox and 360 versions dont even compare to the PC version. I have it for the xbox. My friend has it for the 360. Way too linear on the console versions. On the PC version you can go anywhere on the island you want. There are no restrictions at all. The console versions had to many invisible walls. However the map maker for the console version is absolutely awesome!!

Yes that level is sooo georgous!!! I was just walking around looking at how incredible it looked then I hear "Hey did you hear something". Yeah I walked right out in the open and got killed instantly. :lol: So hard to play this game without staring at the scenery. :drool: :drool:
I think the level was called "Research". It was right after the level called "Pier" I will be playing again tonight. Not sure how far I am thru the game but it sure has been fun so far. 👍
 
I played for about 30 minutes tonight and now I am on the "Treehouse" level. Wow has this game taken a complete change. Now all of a sudden there are these demon looking things coming at me and the game is extremely dark now!!!:nervous:

I dont have the shotgun yet but I cant wait to get it. Now that I am further through this game I can see where so many people got their map ideas from for the xbox version. I cant wait to get my feral abilities. Thats when the xbox version got real fun. So far I am doing a great job avoiding any spoilers for the PC version.
PS. That 6th pic I posted in post 20 is scary looking where the guy is running from the creature!
 
This is another game I never finished on the PC after I got my xbox360. I moved the pics to the first post even though most of them dont seem to be opening properly. I should put them on my own site so they open.
 
I played for about another hour on saturday. Here are a couple screen shots. Not as beautiful or colorful as the earlier levels but its still fun. Just creepy and dark now.
