Will adjusting these settings lack the same impact that they do on cars equipped with independent suspensions? And is there anyone out there that strictly does not change these, and even goes so far as to set rear toe to neutral, regardless of how negatively it may impact the tune?

While still on the topic somewhat, I couldn't help but notice the default rear camber setting on the S. Shigeno Ver. Corolla Sprinter Trueno when equipped with the fully customizable suspension is -0.5. Am I to understand this car uses a bespoke independent rear?

Nope. Adjusting the toe and camber of a car with a live axle will magically work, even though you shouldn't be able to adjust them in the first place. Although you could look at it like the adjustments are being made by modifying the suspension itself, but I don't think GT5 looks at it that way.

And I don't know of anyone who has tuned a car with a live axle in a realistic way, but you might just inspire a few people with your post. 👍

Also I'm pretty sure the SS Trueno is supposed to have a live axle like the original car. There's plenty of camber kits for AE86's in real life so it's nothing out of the ordinary.

NASCAR has been doing it for years, no magic needed.

I have ordered a 2013 Mustang. I can add an aftermarket independant rear suspension to it. We could think of the adjustable suspension upgrade in the game in the same way?

And V8 Supercars, but anyway.
I guess I should've been clearer. To change camber and toe on a car with a live axle is not the same process as changing the camber and toe on a car with an independent rear suspension. Hence why the OP is asking if it makes a difference if you adjust the camber and toe from the suspension menu on a live axle car.

We could, but who knows if that's actually what's happening under the bonnet (or should I say boot?).

I've been drift tuning cars that I believe to be live axle and I've been sticking to reasonable modification (no rear camber and toe) except for in the most dire situations, and then I stick to the amount of play the axle splines would allow for without excessive wear. It's difficult, to say the least, to nail a strong tune that initiates smoothly and retains deep angle.
