Performance loss since the 1.68 installed
Campaign Mode/Premier League @ BMB
I was previously able to win a score of 335k with the McLaren F1-N500 clean race
Around the time of 1.68 I noticed a reduction of performance and tried everything possible to achieve the 335k, but have had no success
Maybe I was just initially lucky because it was like at N500 the McLaren was actually set at N700
I must of racked up 20mil plus before getting this current lower rated performance

Another thing I noticed after watching you tube videos was limits on car settings that weren’t in the videos such as the Mazda RX500 on the video topped out @ 290mph, but in my car settings it tops out at 217mph

Anyone seeing similar performance loss? Please let me know if any ideas of what I’m experiencing?
The problem may. Not have anything to do with 1.68, but it was timed about the same
Thanks
Kevin

I think what you're saying here is that the performance bonus has changed? I don't think that it has, and I think that your quoted "£335k" number is wrong anyway.

The Premium Sports Lounge race at Blue Moon Bay is an N1000 event. If you enter with an N1000 car and win, you get the prize money as stated on the event's entry page: 100,000cr

However, GT Sport gives you a performance bonus of 20% if you use a car in a lower category than the maximum permitted, with an extra 20% for every class you move down. This doesn't stack, it simply increases your reward multiplier by the set value.

That means that if you enter with an N900 car, your prize money is boosted by 20%. Do it in an N800 car, and you get a 40% boost; N700 and it's 60%, and so on.

However, once you reach N600, you gain an extra 10% (although it's inexplicably displayed at 9% in-game at N500), so instead of the 80% boost you get 90% (displayed as 109%).

This gives prize values for PSL of:

N1000: 100% - 100,000cr
N900: 120% - 120,000cr
N800: 140% - 140,000cr
N700: 160% - 160,000cr
N600: 190% - 190,000cr
N500: 210% - 210,000cr
N400: 230% - 230,000cr
N300: 250% - 250,000cr
N200: 270% - 270,000cr
N100: 290% - 290,000cr*

A clean race bonus gives a further 50% on top of the final prize money - and this does stack. That gives prize values of:
N1000: 100%+50% = 150% - 150,000cr
N900: 120%+50% = 180% - 180,000cr
N800: 140%+50% = 210% - 210,000cr
N700: 160%+50% = 240% - 240,000cr
N600: 190%+50% = 280% - 285,000cr
N500: 210%+50% = 315% - 315,000cr
N400: 230%+50% = 345% - 345,000cr
N300: 250%+50% = 375% - 375,000cr
N200: 270%+50% = 405% - 405,000cr
N100: 290%+50% = 435% - 435,000cr*

*(as far as I'm aware, no-one's won it in an N100, though it seems possible in one of the non-BMB events)

I've gone back and checked, and the values are all exactly as they were before the v1.68 update. I don't know where 335,000cr has come from, but it's not a prize amount you can win in this event at all.

Maybe I was just initially lucky because it was like at N500 the McLaren was actually set at N700
If your car is tuned to N500 in the Premium Sports Lounge events and you win, you'll win 315,000cr. If it's tuned to N700 that will only be 240,000cr.

As standard the McLaren F1 has 627hp, or 636PS, so it will be an N600 car. Reduce the power below 550PS (542hp or less) and it will be an N500 car. If it's somehow an N700 car now, you've increased the power above 650PS (642hp or more), and your performance bonus will reduce.

Nobody is doing 290mph in an RX500 unless they're being pushed along by a Dodge Tomahawk. For that matter, nobody's doing 290mph in any road car at Blue Moon Bay in this race. You're likely seeing a car running at 290km/h - 180mph - which is a much more reasonable speed for an N300 car capable of winning the race.

Famine,

Thank you very much for your help to better understand
I was wrong about the 335.
It was previously actually the 315 clean running at N500

However, winning the 315 clean @ N500 has become an impossibility so I’m now running @ N600 for 285 which is still a longer lap time then when I was winning @ N500. I’m baffled at what/why the change in performance.

Still a lot to learn for me
Thanks again
Kevin

Have you changed the tyres or made any major changes to the car tune? Do you have two versions of the car in your garage and are using the wrong one?

You can run at N300 for 375,000cr in 11'40-11'50; it's one of the most effective ways in the game to earn credits.

I went and bought a 2nd McLaren this afternoon & adjusted to the original specs, and then I was back to the same original performance I was previously experiencing for achieving 315k with the F1 @ N500.

Below is the video about the Mazda RX500 which I believe is showing 290 top speed in the specs

Also what car & settings are used for getting 375k @ N300?

I really appreciate your your time & help

Kevin

That, and the fact you said it was now N700, strongly suggests you'd changed the settings of your car.

Yes, 290km/h. Which is 180mph.

There's lots of different ways of doing it, really. People like the Mazda RX500 (the video above gives settings for that, although it's at N200), but there's also the Ford GT40 and the KTM X-BOW that are popular.

The KTM needs some unusual set-up work because it's... a bit nasty to drive with the short wheelbase, but you can easily find settings for it here on GTPlanet in the GT Sport Tuning forum. Mismatched tyres is the key, with Racing Super Soft rears and Racing Medium fronts - otherwise it just spins like crazy.

Why do some people like the diff at
60

Seems to make them terrible on corner entry and apex.

Can I ask why the high numbers, what effects does this have over the "norm" settings?
Why the high LSD number is because of the way that the suspension is setup on this car for the BMB track, and if I had a different suspension setup I will have different LSD settings. For a non oval track I would have this KTM X-BOW LSD settings around 5/12/20, but with a different suspension setup on the car and what type of track.

No it does not make it terrible on corner entry and apex, because it's the way that the suspension is setup for the track.

@jrbabbitt of course it is going to have a better effect than a normal setting, and like I said in my post above it's all depend on the suspension setup.
