Can’t see friend in online race

My brother and I cannot see each other in online races. We both have nat type 2. Have opened ports etc. anyone else had this issue? We join a lobby with our other brother and we can see him but not each other in the menus or cars when racing. Weird glitch I’m sure someone else has run into ?
Please any advice we want to race each other !
