If your points are 10 times the amount of races left in a series, if you exit then you still get the bonus car and championship money. i.e if your in the Dream car series if you on race 5 with 50 points and eveyone else has less points than you, in theroy if you quit you'll still win the bonus car and championship money.

Can anyone confirm this?

Also I did search before I posted, but I couldn't find anything so please don't flame me for not searching before I posted.

You can't just quit. You have to start each race. Once the race has started, then you can quit the race and continue. You must complete the series.

I assume you meant "10 more" instead of "10 times"? ;)

Yes, this is true. This is oft used in relationship with the save-'n-reload trick.

For example, if you have a 10-race series, and win the first 9... you'll be far ahead of the competition in points. At this point, save the game. You can then start the 10th race, but quit it, and even though you'll get zero points, the most that the leader can get is 10 (6 if you stay in front before you quit). Now you'll win the competition, win your car, and yeah. And if you're unhappy with your prize car, just restart the game... since you saved it right after race 9, the save will bring you to the beginning of race 10, and you can repeat the process again.

However, you, of course, won't get a trophy for the race that you've quitted – If you're aiming for 100% completion, then eventually you'll have to go back and do that individual race (you don't have to do it as a series again, since you already won the series).

Hi I have a problem with that, i can't find the button to load

it is normally on the menu
maybe.. you have the fake verison of gt3!!
maybe not. but when you do that save and reload trick,
doesn't it come out automatically? :indiff:

Hi so this is what i got: i entered the amateur American Championship, won the first race and saved after it, then i quit the championship, i re-entered, pressed the start button, and there were these buttons: start, qualify, setting, option and exit. Should the load button be in this menu or am i totally wrong? I have the platinum version of gt3, but it has a ps2-sony-official licensed product hologram on the box

You just use the load game option on the 1st menu screen that appears when you load GT3. It loads the game and takes you straight to the championship that you saved it in.

When you have saved, come completeley out of Granturismo mode. You should be at the main screen:

Arcade Mode
Granturismo mode
Save Game
Load Game
e.t.c.

Load the game from here, you will be taken straight back to the championship.

This "10 times" rule doesn't work at all! If you're on the 5th race of a 10 race series and have won all races so far, you have 50 points, right? And let's say that the closest AI car can have a maximum of 30 points, since the same AI car usually comes in second on all the races in a series, and 2nd place garners 6 points (6 points x 5 races = 30 points...still with me?). So if you do not participate in any more races, even if you get into 1st place and then quit each of the remaining races, that 2nd place AI car will still get 30 more points (6 points / race x 5 more races = 30 points once again) and thus the AI's total will now be 60 points while you still have only 50. You need only possess basic mathematics skills to figure this one out, friends. Hope I helped at least one poor sap. You usually have to win at least 7 races before trying the save and reload trick in a 10 race series, and have to win 4 races in a 5-race series.

5 race wins only can be done.
Proffessional GT race series I think. This series usually has the Nissan R390 and Mazda 787B taking 2nd and 3rd positions. If you exit the last 5 races in the lead the Esperante or Toyota GT-One usually take the 6 points. I have won this series on 50 points several times.
However I agree for the 7 race wins is the safest way to do it.

What's the point of the Matrix pictures? You're just clogging up the server for no reason.

They were already deleted from another one of his posts in another thread. They serve absolutely no purpose, I have no idea why he would attach them.

sorry everyone, I didn't know they caused a problem, I won't put them on in the future, and have deleted them from here. By the way, I still have no clear idea how this win with only 5 out of 10 races is possible. Maybe explain using points to clarify?

The race series I am refering to has the A1 of 1 Mazda 787B, 1 Nissan R390 1 Toyota GT-One race car, Ford GT40 race car and 1 Esperante race car
The Mazda and Nissan come either 2nd or 3rd in the first five races, with the Toyota always coming fourth. The Esperante and Ford swap for 5th and 6th places.
After race 5 the points look like this:
Me : 50.
2nd : 26
3rd : 24
4th : 15
5th: 10
4th : 5

The reason I win on 50 points is the order the AI start on the grid.
The esperante is always position 1, the GT-One is 2 nd, and the others follow.
If I quit a race in 1st place the Esperante or GT-One are either 2nd or third.
If the GT1 is second for 5 races most points he can end up with is 45.
If the Esperante is second for 5 races he ends up with 40 points.
Hope that helps.

I just raced this race today to see what the points layout would look like, and the Mazda 787b came in second EVERY race, and the only way I could still quit after even 6 races was to knock it around and drive it inot a couple of walls to allow the Nissan to overtake it. All I'm saying is that there is no rule for 10 times the number of the race you're in, and that's what the first post was claiming, that there is some general rule you can apply to all races. It may work more than usual for this Professional league race in particular, but for most races in Beginner and Amateur, the second place position is dominated by one single AI car the entire series, not interchanged between two of them.

The general rule is you have to be in front by Xtimes10+1. X being the total number of races left in the series if you quit in last place.
Or if you quit from first spot you have to be in front by Xtimes 6+1. X again being the total number of races left.

So if you decide to quit from last place after race six you need to be in front by 4x10+1= 41.
If you have won every race you will be on 60. Second place would have to be on 60 - 41 = 19 for you to win the series.

In the example you suggest were the same AI is always second you have to run at least 8 races to be certain of winning the series.
you= 8x10= 80.
2nd = 8x6+2x10 = 68 points.
It wont work after 7 races as you will be on 70 the 2nd AI will get 7x6 +30=72.
If you exit the race from first place the AI will only be awarded 6 for 2nd. The 10 points goes to no one.
