The guy is totally baked.
markj_87Regarding your mystery insect, GT, it is in fact a katydid (or bush cricket, as we usually call them in Britain) and specifically a 'great green bush cricket'. They are neither crickets or grasshoppers but are closely related to both. You can read about them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tettigoniidae

oh yeah! I was right! WHAT did I tell you?meThat looks like a katydid. They are closely related to grasshoppers/praying mantises.
But don't trust me, Im just basing it on looks.
SageThe other night I was in bed reading some Stephen Hawking, when one of these boogers crawled up my arm:

A wind scorpion.SakialeSage, what the hell is that?
I'd have crapped a whale if that thing walked up my arm just about any time, let alone in my bed at night.Sage
Oh, you bet. It didnt just walk up my arm, it ran up it, so I jumped out of my bed and did the obligatory flailing and slapping at my arm. It hid behind my bed, so I had to move my bed away from the wall, then took an old Automobile magazine and slapped it to death.DukeI'd have crapped a whale if that thing walked up my arm just about any time, let alone in my bed at night.

Nothing’s worse than centipedes though. Not only are they scary and move fast and can hide easily, but once you do hit them, you have to keep hitting them over and over and over again. With the bigger ones, you sometimes have to cut them up to get them to stop moving.![]()
