Can you try and use your wheel without the AC adapter, and see if it works? I think it will only cause the force feedback to not work.

I'm asking because I recently bought one off of ebay. It arrived today without the power supply. I'm not getting the game until Thursday.

I'm trying to figure out if I will be able to use the wheel until I can get a power supply for it. The logitech website is currently out of stock :(.

Nope you will not be able to steer at all if it is not plugged in, buttons will work, but the steering will be disabled.

Was the ac adapter listed as not included? If not i would contact the seller and get the thing if they forgot to pack it.
 
It was listed as everything included. I've contacted him, no reply. This ruins my weekend now. Wonder if wal-mart or radioshack will have anything that I can use.

Just gotta find a 24V .75A plug in thats center positive from what I've read.
 
you need a ac adapter to initialise the steering once done you can disconnect it from power everything still work except no feedback force

The only 24v adapter Radio Shack has is 1A. You should be able to do a search of 24v 750mA ac adapter and find a few sites that sell them.
 
I still need an ac adaptor. And I need one more piece for my usb, a male to male connector, or male to female b connector.

When you plug the power in, then plug in the USB (into your PS3 while it's on) the wheel will spin all the way to one side, then all the way to the other and then it will center.
 
Just go see if radio shack has one or walmart maybe is your best bet. RS sells make your own adapters some with multiple votage switches so if you can't find a 24v maybe a multi one will have 24v as an option (and you can use it for other stuff if the volts match those too) bring your wheel as you will have to pick a matching tip and make sure you get polarity right.

Don't worry about amps as long as it's more than the needed. Too many amps won't hurt, just don't get too few and don't get wrong voltage.
 
It works, but feels stupid without any feedback.
 
Ok. I've found two things that actually fit into the wheel.

An IHOME plug and a plug from a 19" little monitor. Both were too low on the volts. I'm going to look for a little while longer tonight, then go to Wal-Mart and Radioshack, literally the only two stores in my hometown that would have this.

So as long as the adapter is 24 volts and more than .75 A or 750 mA, it will fit?

Anyone know the size of the jack that fits into the wheel? 2.1mm x 5.5?
 
Ok, the guy on ebay contacted me. Said he had already sent it and meant to shoot me an email. Said i should get it Thursday, looks like my quest to start the game off with my wheel is still on.


Mods can close this thread now, as it serves no practical purpose.

Yep, I've had a couple bad encounters, so I was expecting the worst. Just goes to show there are still good people out there. He even said he sent it two day... I would have been fine with regular shipping with that honesty.
