Can I change length of race after season starts?PS4

I've only completed the first race but 25% was fifteen laps and it felt too short

I've been searching for about a half-hour and can't find a way to change the race length. I don't even see the option to do so

is it possible to change the race length before my second race or do I have to restart my career?

You can change it during the loading screen just after you have completed the race. You have the notification of entering options menu in the bottom right (I think) when the game loads the next track.
 
Yea, you use the "options" button during loading in career mode. I like to run 50% at some tracks but usually 25%. Love the game.
