Can i play my game on another playstation?

So i will be leaving my home for awhile, and i will want to play my game for a little while on my brothers playstation. is this possible? if so i figure i need to sign into my playstation ID. how do you do that? I know this is a nooby question but i havent had to worry about it before
 
Sure! Just log him out of his PSN ID and into yours from the XMB. Then,

a. If he doesn't already own GT5 and have it installed, you will have to wait out the install process for his PS3, or copy your game install data for GT5 to a portable, FAT-32 formatted device from yours and transfer it to his (not sure if this works).

b. If you want access to your game progress, you will need to back up and transfer your GT5 game save.

EDIT...assuming GT5 is what you want to be playing :)
 
yes its GT5 that i will want to play and he already has it installed on his playstation. So all i have to do is sign into my PSN and put in a thumb drive with my gt5 back up, sweet sounds easy
 
Correct you are, it is awfully simple.

Remember to make sure your thumb drive is in the FAT-32 format, otherwise the PS3 won't recognize it and you'll be beating your head off the wall for hours :)

so if my playstation already reads it that means its good to go
 
yes, no problem for me. I did that. just make sure the both update is the same latest 1.05 patch.
 
I don't think your save file will work on his ps3 though, you can either restart GT life or play arcade mode for the time being.

it should work fine as long as he is on his PSN account.

just create a new user on your brothers PS3 and sign in with your PSN details.
 
out of curiosity, what would happen if he got a trophy while playing on the other ps3? would he still have this trophy when he logged back in ot his own ps3?

Trophies are stored online.

This is what I did last week and had no problem.
1.) Backup a copy of GT5 game save to a thumb drive
2.) Log out of PSN ID on home PS3
3.) Travel to friend's house
4.) Create new user account and link to "Existing" PSN ID
5.) Sign in using home PSN ID
6.) Copy game save from thumb drive to new PS3
7.) Launch GT5
8.) Cars and money will be present. Custom made courses and photo gallery will not (they are stored in the game data :( )
 
problem i had was after copying save data to my brothers ps3 was it overites his save data so create a new user on the ps3 witch will stop this
