can I use controller with g27?

Just got my wheelstand pro yesterday and I was finally able to play gt5! My question to you all is can I use a ps3 controller to control the menu (or even buttons during the race) while using the g27? I once saw someone on youtube doing this... So is it possible?
 
Quick Answer. Yes you can, although you need to go into the controller menu and assign the controller as player one. The controller is really useful when it comes to horn/headlights and menu navigation. Although you can use the accelerator for 'X' and the brake for 'Y', it is always useful to just have the controller of hand for the little bits. Hehe, you can also play with it when a friend is racing on your g27 :sly:
