Can I use my PC wheel with GT4?

I own this wheel:

Logitech Formula GP

It was designed to run on the PC, but has a USB connector. Is there a way to get it to work with GT4 on the PS2? What do you normally have to do to get a wheel designed for the PS2 to work?

May I give you a little peace of advice. Just try it out. I'll try it with mine too.

I had that wheel for the PC and YES it also works on the PS2.
Just connect it and it should find it automaticly.
Only configure it later.
The only huge problem there is is that you cant adjust the force feedback settings.
And you havn't got enough buttons.
Good luck.

I tried it but I didn't have any success. I've heard some people had some success getting PC wheels to work on PS2, but I wasn't sure about GT4. I'll try it some more later.

The logitech Formula GP wheel (the red and black one) does work on the PS2 as well. I bought it for my PC and suprisingly worked on my PS2 as well. It works great with GT4, force feedback, everything works great...only thing is that it doesn't have all the buttons but who needs all the buttons anyways? =) I navigate the game with another controller so it's not an issue. Good luck!

I have a Logitech Formula Force and i tried to use it with GT3 but i didn't work...
I also tried to use it with Prologue, but it also didn't work... :grumpy:
I'm going to try with GT4 tonight!! :nervous:

That's too bad. You wouldn't think that the Logitech Formula Force GP would be that different. That one works.

I haven't tried mine yet (I'm at work), but I've been looking around and different things online about using wheels with the PS2. I've seen some pretty crazy things like make sure it's in the correct USB port, make sure you have the controllers disconnected, etc. Do you have any tips for how you got the Formula Force GP to work?

Well, my Formula Force GP worked right away when I plugged it in. I didn't have to do anything else. I've tested it with GT4, GT3, Need for Speed Underground 2, and Burnout 2--all worked (although Burnout 2 wasn't as polished--the wheel made it hard to navigate the menus).

It was good news to me it had been sitting in my closet for the longest time unused. After GT4 came out, I also got a DFP so now have both set up:

I'm sorry to say that regardless of what I tried (different ports, controller plugged in and not plugged in) I could not get the wheel to work.

Perhaps it has to do with the PS2 model. Mine is a SCPH-30001R I've had for a number of years.

Yes, I have the newer slimline model, but I can't see why the internal hardware that allows you to connect devices would be different.

I'm sure it has more to do with my current wheel not having force feedback built-in. It's a shame because in general I do not like the feel of force feedback wheels. The Driving Force Pro would be perfect for me if they made a non-force feedback version. The extra mechanics for providing force feedback make it feel like driving with a sponge.

The Formula Force GP is the same wheel as the GT Force. Only the cosmetics are different. It is specifically supported by GT4 and has its own menus in the game.

The Formula GP might not work as it is mechanically different. I know the Momo Force does not work with GT4 even though it works with 3 and Concept. Not sure about Prologue.

However, the real issue is that only the DFP offers proper steering ratios and it is super crucial. It also has other benefits but this is why only kids should be allowed to use any other wheel (or a DualShock 2) on GT4.

Well guys, i found this place like a week ago or so and then i saw this tread and thought, well why not try my Microsoft Sidewider Force feedback wheel and see if that works. But it didn´t....
So i was wondering which weel to buy for Gt4. Its my first GT game and i love it :) .
I have played some racing on my Pc but this is my first Ps2. So which wheel is the best for a Gt beginner, and offcourse not to expensive

Edit: ohhps forgot to ask... Is there a wheel which is works with both PC and ps2(GT4) to 100%. And has force feedback?

Momo doesn't work ? Well that sucks. Considering it does with GT3. I sure hope there's somekind of hack for this, perhaps in a few months. I need a wheel.
