Can photo mode be used elsewhere?

I really want to take some pictures of a few cars and save them onto my memory stick, but it seems as if you can only use it in GT mode and I only have one rubbish car in my garage. Is there anyway to use photo mode in arcade mode or take pictures of any car you want?
 
nope sorry, can only take pics in photomode and photodrive in Gran Turismo mode
 
if you want to take picture at photo mode location, you have to own the car to do so
if you want to take pictures from replay, you can try to use any car you like in arcade mode, and do a single race or time trial. Afterward you can save the replay. Go to main menu and choose replay theatre, load the replay you have saved. Now you can take a photo of a car that you don't own by press select

That's the right answer. Anytime you can save a replay (arcade, driving missions, license tests) you can take pics from that replay.
