Can someone explain this to me?Music

Well, I recently bought the album "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3" by Coheed and Cambria. Once I got past the dark and rather Emo-esque lyrics, I found out that they are really good musicians (although the guy's voice is kinda freaky). Anyway, I was talking with my friend about the band, and they told me that it's not actually Emo, and that it is, in fact, a story. Now this is backed up by a statement in the lyric book after a song about a person killing themself where it says something along the lines of "this isn't real, it's just a story." So I was wondering if anyone couldenlighten me on exactly what this story is (or where I can find it). Thanks in advance.

Listen about 10 seconds after the song ends. ;) Its cool.After seconds of sitting in silence, there is the sound of rain, and then a steady dripping sound as though water were hitting lead pipes in a dark, echoing tunnel...and then the footsteps, which get closer and louder...and then the horrendous, frightening screams, shrill and terrifying in their authenticity. Imagine Sigourney Weaver being followed down a dark, secluded pathway in the movie Aliens, add in the psychotic screaming once she is caught and you get the picture.
 
To add, I don't know where you could actually find a written out in the open story of it. But I gave all the information I could find. :odd:
 
I know; that song is among my favorites on that CD. However, the way I see it (and based on the next track's title; "the crowing"), you're walking through a crowded city street at night and it's raining. There's some kind of strange music playing, and you see a sewer-cover open. You climb down into it; the sound of rain begins to die out. As you round a corner, you see a man lying in an awkward position on the ground. You can hear what sounds like voices, and you turn up to see this mutant bird-like thing (like a pterodactyl) hovering over its egg. You hear cracking in the backround, and see strange equipment making all sorts of clicking and tinging sounds. As you watch, the egg bursts open, and the new creature opens its mouth, sending a deafening shriek through the area.
It's interesting, considdering as how the lyrics of the next song include "You were my favorite" which is a line used by the Hojo from FF7 (father of Sephiroth), and by the scientist who tried to experiment on Sydney in Alias, so I have a feeling that has something to do with that particular sequence. As for the story, I'm still clusless, anyone else know it?
