can the Asian save be used on other versions?

I can't find a thread like this when I did search. Anyway, has anybody tried to use a save from one version (eg. Chinese version) to run it on another one (eg Japanese or English version)???

I need to know because i've got Chinese version now and I plan to buy another one for Aussie version (because i can't read Chinese) but I'm afraid that I have to play it again after buying the Aussie version which I don't want to waste my time playing from scratch again.

i hope the chinese save works on english.. cos i wanna get the english version when it's out too...

no it won't work, as this happened before

and i tried already, put a Japanese save to a Chi version GT4, doesn't recgonize my save
