List So Far:

Player:Nurburgring
Car:Pescarolo C60
Time:3'45.XXX

So far the best I can get is 3:20.003

Car:Audi R8 LMP
Time: 3:20.003
Position In LM:1st :)

I used R5's...disregard this post.

Check out the times from WRS Week 8, I bet most if not all are below the fastest time here.

Yeah your right...but...still...lets see how much better we can do than the real drivers.

my next best time:

Car:Audi R8 LMP
Time: 3:09.719

I used R5's.....disregard this post.

If you want to compare yourselves with the real drivers you could try using N2 tires which are the simulation tires, you would also have to avoid running over the kerbs as the real ones on Le Sarthe are avoided.

I think everyone should do the lap on R1 tires or S3, with the car in all stock. So, the laptimes would be equal or near that. Running on R5 tires or even fully moded wouldn´t put ur times near to the real life ones, just if u drive so bad. :D

R1 tires have unrealistic grip, around the Nurburgring in a touring car with R1 tires you can do RL group C times.
And I'm guessing that the S3's would be unrealistic as well.

R2 so should be the choice. You cannot just go that fast, remember, real life world record of that track, is 6'11.130, so make sure that you will step a lot of far from that time, talking about a DTM car or even Group C.

6'20 lap times, in those Audi R8, or the Pescarollos, should be something real, at nurburgring.

Derek Bell went around the Nurburgring at 6'25.xxx in a 956 race car, in GT4 a good time in a stock DTM car on R1's is in the low 6'30's, a bit unrealistic, R2's would be even faster.

Maybe N3's or S1's are better, I just did a few laps at Le Sarthe on N3's in the C60 and am around 3'35.xxx. On S1 tires without cutting any curbs my 2nd lap was 3'32.051.

I updated the thread. Now everyone MUST use N3 Tires on their run!

Derek Bell did his best shot at 6'41 i guess, or near that. The man who did 6'25 was jackie Ickx.

But both are so far from the world record, got with the same Rothman´s porsche, by Stefan Bellow, who flied @ 6'11.130.

Ahh thanks, I got that mixed up, though I did read that it was Derek Bell and his team mate who got 6'25, and I see now that time was got by Stefan Bellof. The 6'11.130 was set on a shortened version of the track as work was being done on a section, the track was about 2km shorter at the time.

Derek Bell did a 6'41 lap with the big camera on board, I didn't think that was his best lap, either way you still shouldn't be able to beat that time with a DTM, but in GT4 with R1 tires you can, which anyone can plainly see is completely unrealistic.

Just noticed this, cool will have another go 👍

N3 stock race car challenge is great!
I'm doing it as soon as possible with my Pescarolo...
Hoping I'm not too bad! :)

Did you drive la Sarthe 1 or la sarthe 2?
I did my first try (10 laps, only 4 clean laps!) with the Pescarolo (no modification, N3 tires, DFP, no driver aids) on La Sarthe 1:

3'45.XXX

Car is sliding all the time, spinning on 4th gear sometimes... not an easy challenge! allsweat and so much adrenaline! :) :dunce:

Yep, the one with the chicanes on the straights (LeSarthe 1?). I had no ASM but I would have had some TCS (I can't remember how much, probably about 5 :dunce: )

Stefan Bellof did his 6'11.130 at the 20.8 km version, the same as used by Derek Bell and Jackie Ickx. THe same version figured on GT4, the same version we have today. 👍

I always put TCS and ASM at zero...
Is TCS allowed on all the real LeMans race cars?

The McLaren F1 GTR is close to realistic. I ran a 3'34.xxx without any driving aides on it's as delivered setup (612hp and R3's). It hit 208mph before the first chicane, which is close to what the Audi's were hitting this year at LeMans, which was consistently between 203 and 210. If I remember correctly, the winning Audi had a best lap of around 3'32.xxx, so the McLaren is the closest thing you can get to an authentic LeMans car.

And LeMans car cannot have traction control, stability control or anti lock brakes.
