Tonight at work (at a servo), an old Cadilac (spelling?) limo came in, and my boss just sat their and said "bl**dy huge ugly yank heap of ****". I damn near slapped him!

I personally love the old 'yank tanks' and would gladly give my left testicle and any other part of my anatomy (yes, even THAT) for a chance to own one in good nick.

This is probably going to get locked, but I was so outraged, I just had to vent!

I can believe him, because if its the type of limo I think it is, I've been in one and it did suck!

My father imported alot of Cadillacs over the years (aswell as many other american cars) , including one we used to own, what type and colour was it? ( yes I'm south Australian)

There are actually alot in South Australia.

all i know was that it was white, stretched, huge and square. It was IMMACULATE (spelling?) not a spot on it, registered in vic i think, on their way to burra. I'm not up with models, but I have seen quite a few of the non-limo versions in older car chase movies (I *think* there is one in the original Gone In 60 Seconds). I will have a search on google and get back to you

*edit*

I *think* it was the '75, if they made it in stretch, but after more searching, it was probably an '83

Sorry, but the Caddy limo's from the 80's are an eye sore, much like everything else from the 80's from Cadillac. They can actually be picked up for fairly cheap over here, in fact, the last one I saw was only $3000, and in pretty good condition.

The older Cadillac's from the 60's are still my favorite with their smooth lines, and huge everything. 👍

I agree with you, but the newer ones are still awesome to see, as you don't see that many of them over here

I haven't even seen a Caddy on the road, I've seen a few in showroom's, even had a sit in one once, but never seen one driving on the road, they don't impress me much.

lol live4speed, just as i read your post that Shania Twain song was on the radio "you don;t impress me (much)" and JUST as I read that last bit, thats the lyrics that played! FREAKY!

I don't mind Cadillac stretch limos, but I want to slap whoever builds those Hummer H2 stretch limos, or any other SUV limos....sadly, I see those more often than car-based stretch limos.

haha. for sure. i know exactly what your talking about. they are really annoying, and i bet the 'rockstars' who ride in them are arrogent pricks. we probably see the same ones actually. as for an old cadillac, i would take one. i think they are sweet. but im not sure i would want a limo

They fit more people which is why they do it, think about it...it's prom, you have a group of 30 people, what company are you going to? The one with the 15 passenger Lincoln Towncar, or the 30 passenger Hummer?

I'd go the hummer!

Blazin - Hows the Blazer coming along? Ever think of makin it a stretch?

Errrr....I like the short wheel base, plus the whole CDL thing kinda kills is .

CDL? But true, the short wheel base is good!

Famous people don't actually ride in stretched limos anymore, they are more likely to be seen (or not seen) in a blacked out Merc.

The only people to still use stretches are US kids going to their prom and UK council-estate girls out on a hen-night - thats it, no one else ever uses them. ;)

if i had the money, I would use one! with a chauffer

is this man, by chance, located in the south? (he said yank)

Yeah, but I have a feeling he's located a bit farther south than what you're thinking...and pretty far to the west, as well...

I'm in Australia! All Americans are Yanks to us! Or Seppos, but thats derogatory!

I rarely use the term 'yank' and I don't even know what 'Seppos' is.

Yanks = anybody in USA to me also

Its rare you see any stretch limo's in Aus, at least where i live.

a Seppo is an annoying arrogant yank
A Yank is an american
an american is someone who lives in the united states of america
