Can you change your IP address to send more cars?

I'm just wondering how they know you are sending more then one car from a different account on your playstation? Has anyone tried manually changing their IP address on their ps3 to try and send multiplle cars from one PS3, not 1 account? thank you!

I believe it's tied to the machine ID, not its IP address. Otherwise, those with dynamic IPs would already be able to send more cars than they can now.
 
No you can't. It's locked to account and console, not IP address.

I can send two cars a day from my two consoles, providing I use different accounts to do so. They are, quite obviously, on the same IP address.

Well Famine, you have just made my day :D

Somewhere, sometimes, in past days when we got an daily-lock, somebody said how lock is also IP based, so I never actually gave it a shot.

This changes everything :D
 
It would be nice to figure out how to spoof MAC address on one console... lol... that way we can have "virtual" consoles...

Im sure I am not the first one to say this so I am sure it cant be done (Sony OS is locked down TIGHT!)
