Can you feel the weight of a car with a good wheel?

I've tried a DS3 and a Logitech Driving Force EX.

Does a better wheel allow you to feel the cars weight?

At the moment the cars seem to be lacking some feel to them, they feel weightless I think (if that makes sense?).

I am talking in regards to in-game drifting by the way. When you chuck a car around it doesn't feel anything like drifting a 1000kg car it has a very light arcade feel.

Will a better wheel fix this?

Thanks in advance. :scared:

I have the DFGT and you can definitely feel the weight of the cars. You can also adjust the force feedback strength in the game settings. You definitely notice it most when going over the crest of a hill very fast and your car starts to lose the full weight of itself against the ground.

Not sure if mine is better, probably not but I have a Driving Force GT and I definitely feel a cars weight...maybe I'm misunderstanding or we have different definitions of "weight" tho.

Yes, yes you can...

I have a G25. Thrash around in a 1000kg Elise, then jump in a 2000kg Mercedes SL55 AMG... There is definitely a difference in wheel feel there. It's pretty neat; like a real car it kind of gives you an idea of how hard you can push the car.

+1, same here 👍

You can, very easily..

You can feel the weight of the car moving when you break into a corner etc, it's awesome.

I'll echo the above statements. I have the DFGT and you can really feel the weight. You can "feel" the back end of the car loosing a little grip. You can feel the steering get lighter at higher speeds. You can even feel the effect strong front downforce has on the steering.

in general yes, but i only realy feel a difference of car weight when going over hills with high speed.
breaking takes longer with a 2 ton car, but i would not say that you feel the weight of a car in these situations, breaking just takes longer.
(Fanatec GT3 v2 with CSP set ff etc. to max and ps3 to simulation)

Do i miss something or are the others over exagerated? :)

Using weight transfer, with throttle control, aka Scandinavian flicks, and throwing your car into slides for reduced time in stopping challenges, although doable with a gamepad, the wheel definitely adds to the immersion this game has to offer. I loved driving games since I was a child (Pole position, Supersprint, Hard Drivin' , Turbo, OffRoad, Smashup Derby) so getting a good wheel (gaming investment) is really a no-brainer.

A good wheel makes all the difference. I use a DFGT (Logitech Driving Force GT) and I'm really happy with it. It's my 3rd Force Feedback wheel and it's the best I've owned so far.
