Can you strip an Esprit enough for the Brit Lightweight?

I have nothing that remotely qualifies for the British Lightweight event, so I am in the enjoyable position of choosing a new car to buy.

Is it possible to take enough weight off a Lotus Esprit to bring it under the weight limit? And if so is it even worth it?

Or should I just choose a nice TVR instead? :)

Whatever you do, don't go with the TVR - at least not if you're ever going to do the race in B-Spec.
The Elise 111R is a better choice, in my opinion.

With my pre-order of the game I got the Mclaren F1 Stealth, & the game lets me use this for the brits lightweight. You will crush with this. Maybe you want to check and see if a mclaren will work.

Race Modified and tuned 111R
McLaren F1
Jaguar XJ13 Chrome line Race car (Free off Facebook and only valid for European players)

I completed it in both A & B Spec with the Jaguar

Did it with the Lotus racing car (red one in the used car lot) with some upgrades. Got gold once I learned to control the car. Best thing to use would be the Bentley Group C car, or a McLaren :)

YOu can seriously use the McLaren F1 stealth in the british lightweight?!?!?

AHAHAHAHA wow that race is sooooo destroyed tonight.

Where can I get it free???

I used a 260bhp caterham and nothing came close .

Same with me. I've always loved the Caterham, so had to buy one when I saw it in the used car lot. It was nice to have a race I could use it in. But it absolutley destroed the competition, but its such a fun car to drive!

Slap the supercharger on it and of she goes. You can't reduce the weight anymore but I think it's 360kg anyway.

Ordered from Amazon, so I don't have the Stealth F1 and it will be a while before I can afford a McLaren. On the other hand with the Stealth SLS I have the German event covered. :)

I went ahead and bought the premium V8 Esprit and stripped the crap out of it. In restrospect, the car was indeed overkill. I won handily and it was fun to drive. My Bspec morons will still find a way to lose with it tho, I'm sure.

I did it in a weight reduced Mclaren Mp4-12c, overkill I know, but I didn't fancy buying a new elise at the time.
