Ack... For all you smokers out there (that are in Canada - specifically Ontario)...

The price of cigarettes jumped significantly in the last day or so... I went to buy a pack last night and it was $7.90

Bah.

Now, I guess the race begins to see how many people can tell me I should quit.

And what do you pay for petrol? Here, cigarettes are about £4.80 a pack, and fuel is £0.72 per litre. Do the math!

I've been to Canada - it's cheap!

 67c/l? In rural Australia, it sometimes jumps over $1! Your crew are cheap!

I guess I'd care if I was a Canadian smoker, but since i'm neither Canadian nor a smoker I don't really care.

I don't understand why cigarettes aren't more here. Only 5-5.50 USD. Hell, the gov't could tax the hell out of them up to 9 or ten USD and smokers would still buy them.

I don't care if you smoke but please do not do itnear me. I value my health. I've never smoked anything in my life and never will so I on't need jackasses breathing 400 chemicals down my lungs. I guess it's hard seeing as how my parents each smoke 20 -30 cigarettes a day. FFS, they could at least be considerate and not kill me with them.

Oops, sorry for going off on a tangent there.

Cigarettes(Marlboro, Camel, etc) are only $2.80-$3.80/pack here.

Well, this is the price for having socialist or social democratic governments.

Ok, just an update... quitting is now on my to-do list.

:)

I went and checked out the patch last night, 'cause I doubt my willpower would hold up. I've been smoking for too long (yes, I shouldn't have started - hindsight is 20/20 eh?) and it's just way too accessible right now. I work from home, and am sitting infront of my computer all day.

Blah.

So, umm.... if I end up bitter and angry and snap at everyone, it's likely 'cause I'm quitting.

Ugh - I'll probably be giving up the "Ethanol" for quite a while. Drinking and smoking have gone hand in hand for so long, the one is almost synonymous with the other.
