Cannot make any selections on main menu

I have just installed GT 6, and all updates were done... I am unable to make any selection at all from main menu, no car selections, no anything.
What have i done wrong, any help greatly appreciated. Not used the PS3 in some time, but it seems to be working.

Have you bought the Honda Fit? You must do that before you can do anything else.
