Cannot program my G27 - HELP

I know this has been discussed in another thread but I tried that and still couldnt get it to work. Maybe there are some of you that are using the G27 that are able to help.
I have tried to program the buttons on my brand new G27 but nothing happens. The paddles and the pedals (acc and brake) are working fine but my question is about the buttons on the wheel. All the normal PS3 buttons are working fine on the shifter-console but at least I would like the "reverse" button on the wheel.
Apart from the paddles I have three red buttons on each side of the wheel. The upper left is currently "Rear view" and the others I am not able to get any functionality in.
I have set the mode to "Simulation" and tried the setup in DFP (both 1 and 2) and still nothing happens.
Do I have to go back to the GT-wheel again with the normal PS3 buttons again?
 
Good news or bad news? Bass news is... You can't program those buttons which is rather frustrating I know! GT have their own branded wheel which they designed to be at one with the game so don't appear to give a frig about us logitech guys. Good news is the g27 is still the best wheel IMO, I still love it and have gotten over not having a reverse or handbrake handy.
 
As was said, there is no help for programming the buttons.

I got used to it and really like my G27. My wife likes her DGFT and rarely uses the buttons and never uses the red adjustment wheel.
 
From what I have read and heard is that the G27 is not a supported wheel for the GT5 game. It will work but you are not going to have the option of programing all the buttons. I was using a Logitech Momo racing wheel I had for my PC racing games when I first bought GT5, it worked but I could not program all the buttons on it either. I was going to buy a G27 wheel but went with a Logitech DFGT wheel instead because I never could get a straight answer on the G27. I hear that the G27 makes a lot less noise and is a little smoother. I wish you good luck at finding a answer to your problem. If you do find out how to program all the buttons please post it here so we all can know, again good luck.
 
G27 has reverse in case you might not know it?
 
Well that is actually bad news really. I trust you and might change it into a T500RS instead as that seems to be fully supported by GT5.
