Hi,

After the spec iv update, all of my cars cannot be steered anymore, rendering the entire game useless :/ This is super sad, I cannot seem to find a way to get rid of the update/uninstall it, is there any fix coming?

All of them? Cannot steer at all?

Can you provide some video showing the issue?

With this update being out for five days now and nobody else reporting it, this doesn't appear to be a major, wide-ranging issue.

And no, you cannot uninstall the update unless you delete the entire game, begin again only on the disc version and lose all access to most of the game.

yeah i tried 5 cars and 3 tracks and I could basically just accelerate and brake😅 Wasn't the best experience 😂 Hope it's better today, I'm omw home now. Driving into walls is a nice experience, but I do want to be able to finish the race

I don't know why you're acting like this is some widespread problem. A quick look at these forums will show that everyone else is enjoying the update to varying degrees. It's a problem on your side. Have you reset your wheel or other input device? What does "basically" mean in this context?

Um, excuse me, I never said or acted like this was supposed to be some widespread problem. I was just looking for help.

With that @Famine thank you for your quick response and @bduddy and @benjoi84 - feel free to stick your extremely rude altitudes up your ***

With that I think I'll just leave these forums be, spewing random acid is sadder then a game bug. Have a nice day / Farewell

All benjoi84 said was that he'd like some video to analyze the situation and that just your word is not that trustworthy. It's a standard request on a forum, and in fact I may be able to help you too if you just provide me some video footage of the issue in action. May I see what's happening?

I think @bduddy misinterpreted your post, perhaps read it a bit too quickly. Because I don’t see anything in your post that suggests that you think it’s a widespread issue.

Are you using a wheel or a controller?
If it’s a wheel, does the steering work if you try the controller instead?
If it’s a controller, does the steering work if you remap it to some other stick/button?

Why would there be a "fix coming" for a problem that affects one person? How could anyone possibly answer that question?

@Winterspell not even this. I trust you that you're experiencing a problem, but in the name of efficiency you should post a video (not as proof). It's easier for everyone and would find a much speedier solution.

I guess expediency is off the table now.

It’s a very easy question to answer:

“I don’t know for sure, but there’s probably not a fix coming since it’s not a problem I’ve heard anyone else report so I guess there’s something wrong on your end.”

I don’t think asking that question is grounds for saying that he’s acting as if it’s a widespread problem. If he were ignoring our help and demanded a patch then it would be a different story.

Without any information beyond what was provided in the OP there is no way to help him at all. The post implies that it was the update that caused the issue and that it needs a fix from the dev to resolve it. Without more information how are we to know what actual issue is even occurring? Is there no steering response at all -- meaning when the control is moved the visual steering indicator on screen (red dot over the tach or the on screen wheel in cockpit view) doesn't do anything at all? If so, then it would seem to be some sort of hardware or settings issue. If otoh the visual indicators do respond then maybe it's a driver issue (slow down more?) or perhaps the control axis isn't giving full range or something. Either way...not a general issue that would need a "fix" from the dev...

Sure there is. @Famine answered some of his questions. @benjoi84 asked him to provide a video to help with the troubleshooting. I asked him a couple of questions to help with that as well.

It’s true that we can’t identify the problem based on the information provided in the first post, but that does not mean that we can’t help him.
The post implies that it was the update that caused the issue and that it needs a fix from the dev to resolve it.
It implies that it may have been caused by the update. That’s not an unreasonable assumption since the problems started after the update, but it’s not necessarily true. It doesn’t imply that a fix from the devs is necessary to resolve it.

Then ask for more information, it’s as simple as that.

Nobody has said that it needs a fix from the developer.

my 'guess' is you have a wheel setup & you entered the track/race using your controller & now the pedals work but not the wheel...?

I read the OP's posts each carefully. At no point did they claim to have actually attempted to steer. That could be the problem.

It is a pretty unreasonable assumption given it's been a week since the update came out and nobody but him seems to have the issue (whatever that issue may be since we have no real idea given the lack of actual information.)

Then ask for more information, it’s as simple as that.

He was asked for more information. Several times. He never provided any. And now he appears to have vacated the premises which sort of makes it seem like he's not all that invested in a solution.

Asking if a fix is coming implies that he feels a fix should be coming. Presumably, that would be from the devs.
