Can't access the third race of the 100 Kart Series

So, after constant yelling at my screen about the numerous times I spun out and threw away the race at Kart Space before winning it, I entered the third race (at the GT Arena) in the 100 Kart Series in the A License Level, and it constantly freezes when loading up the pre-race menu.

After the first time, I shut down my PS3, loaded it back, it went through restoring the file system, loaded up the XMB, and I tried again, with no avail. Same thing happened the second time.

The third time, I got the disc out, cleaned it, placed it back in carefully and tried once more, and once again, it's not loading.

Is anyone else having any problems with this race? Any tricks that I could do to possibly fix it?

PS: If there's already a thread where I can post stories like this, or something, please let me know. Thanks!
 
Same happened to me in GT5, it would freeze on Eiger but any & all other tracks were fine, this is what I got told to do from the the helpline when I called them, there is a glitch in your game & you need to delete GT5 from your game data then re-start, so scroll up your XMB click on your GT5 data & delete, you won't lose any of your save so don't worry about that but you do have to do any updates again like starting over, hope this helps,
 
Had the exact same problem. I had to get into another vehicle, then get back in the kart. After that it worked fine and the map didn't freeze.
 
Ok, I tried getting out of the kart and into a new car, that didn't work as well.

I really don't want to have to reset the game data, I just did that for the 20,000,000 credits glitch.

But, I guess if there's no other way...

EDIT: Alright, it worked after another try. Thanks guys for the help.

I had read that if you go into the testing courses (no other racers) it will load it and then you can race the race. That did NOT work for me. I will try moving to another car, then back into the cart but I have restarted my game a dozen times and am about just getting ok with not completing the race. although that would mean I don't get a car for completing the golds. So I guess I need to find the solution.
