(HD is preferred but as long as it is at least 720p I'll be happy! I'll consider this as a Christmas present haha!) Hey everyone I'm new to the community and I'm happy to be here. I'm planning on starting up my own YouTube channel so I can share all of my epic races with you guys, but unfortunately I don't have the funds to purchase a capture card which sucks! I don't want to record something off of my TV because it's older than me hahaha. If anyone is willing to do this it would be greatly appreciated if you have some mad editing skills it would also be a great help. I'll make sure to include you in my video and shout you out! You will also be featured on my channel and if you're willing to stick with me for a while you'll be glad you did Please contact me on the fourms or on my PSN or Email (upon request) If you're willing to do this, we'll talk about how it's going to be done and how I'll repay you in the future.

I was in same situation as you and finally found the "hauppauge hd pvr rocket" which is pretty cheap and doesn't need a computer to record. It's literally plug PS3 in and a USB stick into it then press a record button.

Footage is pretty good. This is the only multiple clips video I have with it right now, but it came out good. Did a bit of editing to the colors only. Also does 1080p and can live steam too, but obviously need a computer hooked up for that. Best part is you can bring it to your friends houses too as it is so little. Fits in my hand.

The Rocket really isn't that cheap or small. Elgato and Avermedia both sell a couple of devices for around $150, and if you really want to go cheap Roxio has a couple at $50-$100(though from what I've heard, theirs are about as good as recording your TV ). None of which are more than pocket sized. The ability to record without a computer is a nice touch though, especially if you can't get a computer near your console.

It depends where you live. All the big name brands in Canada where I am are very expensive and all over $200 PLUS you need a computer. The rocket fits in the palm of my hand and was only $140. That is a $60 savings right off the top compared to the others and no cost of a computer. For me it was extremely cheap compared to the other routes. I posted a vid of quality which looks exactly the same as anyone else's quality from the bigger brands. Even has a mic input to record your voice directly along with the content which is pretty cool. Only problem I have seen with it is it records at 30fps while the new elgato can do 60fps and now youtube allows 60fps for uploading. Only the new elgato does it however and maybe a couple other very new expensive ones.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions I'm saving up for a capture card and I also live in Canada, as shmogt said yes all of the big name capture cards here are very expensive compared to everywhere else. I'm still looking for someone to help me record game plays but if I can't find anyone I guyess I'll have to start trying to save up for one myself
