Can't change tyres glitch

I'm trying to race the Camaro RM Z28 in the historic race car event. After race modifications it still had hard sports which I thought was odd but no problem, bought the slicks and tried that, still only got 2nd in the race. Come back few days later and after getting nowhere find I've got the sports tyres on again, go to change them but can't. (I'm in the settings menu after I've entered the race, before starting). The tyres show up in the list but there's no button to change them - when I click I get an info panel on what the tyres are but no way to select them. The other adjustable items (aero, tranny etc) all have buttons on the right to get you to the adjustment menu - I've never seen that for tyres. And when I check on other cars I see it's the same - when I buy new tyres they get fitted but once that's done there's no way to change back to the others in my list. Am I missing something here? Anyone else had this problem?
 
Go to the Driving Options tab, where you select driver aids, and your tire choices are there. Very backwards, admittedly, when they should be in the settings menu, but there you go.
 
Thanks, and apologies - I did look for an answer - both in-game and on-line - for a long time before I posted that. Don't see why they'd include the tires in settings but not give a selection option. Very annoying - now I feel like an idiot. Thanks for the help.

That is how you change your tires before a race. This is the only time you can change your tires.

Well okay, fair enough, but I really didn't think I was asking a simple (stupid) question - since it just doesn't make sense that you'd have tyres in the settings menu but not be able to select them. I really thought there was a problem, and I was trying to be specific. So I'm an idiot, and I'm annoyed about it.

It just amused me that you used a wall of text to ask the question! And to be honest I had the same problem when I first got the game!:)
