Can't get into "Extreme Events"...?

OK.

I have completed ALL the Beginner events, and ALL the Professional events EXCEPT for the Gran Turismo World Championship. When I try to get into the GT World Championship, or the Extreme Events, I get a message box popping up saying that I need to "win all Beginner and Professional events" first.

I've gone through and double, TRIPLE checked that I have a GOLD trophy in ALL the single races and championships (ie race series) that are in the Beginner and Professional events, and yet it still won't let me compete in the GT world championship or extreme events. Am I missing something? Is there something else I need to complete besides just the races/championships in the beginner/professional series?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I feel like I'm missing out on a HUGE section of the game here! :nervous:

Thanks all!
Mike

EDIT - Nevermind, Answer found, sorry for cluttering up the forums!!!

Do the Gran Turismo World Championship. It should let you in if you've complete every race. Do you have the proper licsense for it?

You're not going to like this, but no, you haven't. If the game doesn't let you into the World Championship, its becasue you have missed a race somewhere. You need to have won all individual races, and you must have won all the race series. You HAVE missed something. Everyone who has asked this question, has missed something.

EDIT: Oh, and welcome to GTP.

OK nevermind, I typed something a little different into the search bar this time and got some better results. Apparently this has been asked ad nauseum, so my apologies!

I'll try using the diary and the car list and see if that helps any, cuz I sure as heck didn't see any bronzes! :dunce:

Sorry to clutter up the forum - mods, feel free to delete the thread! :)

lol @ LOON, and the silvers and goold look quite similar, i would also be sure you did each individual race and each series of races ;)

To add my advice, watch out for bronzes - they are extremely similar to the gold trophies (much more so than silvers, by general consensus - must be your TV, Tulok :odd: )

If you go over all of them and still can't find the problem, turning up your TV's contrast can be useful too. :)

looks like the wife'll have to wait for her Valentine's dinner!
I like your prioritising ;)

Some people don't realise tha completed each race in a race series as individual races doesn't count the same as completing it as a whole series. You get an extra cup for winning a series on top of winning the races, and that cup counts.

Well how silly do I feel :)

You were all right. When I went and sat 5" from my TV set and painstakingly examined every single trophy, I found a pesky bronze sitting there after all (first race in the MR challenge in Beginners). How embarrassing!

Sure enough, I can now get into the GTWC and the extreme events. Everyone - please proceed to flog me with your choice of wet noodle :dunce:

Thanks a-plenty for the help anyways!!!

We all make mistakes so I'm sure no one is going to flog you with anything.

As L4S said, good luck with the rest of GT4.

Very comparable to being stuck at 99.8% and having to find the missing race. Don't ask me how I know . . . .

Lots more diary entries by then!

hmmm, I wasn't aware people were in to this kind of thing.... do you prefer a particular brand of wet noodles? I must give it a try.

nah, j/k :D
Welcome to GTP.👍
Sorry, I just couldnt resist :)

It should certainly get the job done... Just remember to Practice before each race - this will give you an idea of tyre wear and, if you find you'll need to pit, do it at exactly half race distance (or, if it's an odd number of laps, on the lap that will take you over half distance), even if your tyres will last longer - it'll only gain you 6-8s, but you'll get track position.

Good looking car too.

i've just tried to race now...should have praticed before.

raced 10 laps and made a pit at lap 5, in the end finished in third position.

thanks for the explanations.

i think i'll try hard tires now.

I did a b-spec run of El Capitan in the endurance events, which gave me the Minolta Toyota race car. I'm currently about halfway through the GTWC and it seems quite capable!

I am however planning to eventually get the Toyota GTOne, just in the process of building up the 4.5million I need to buy it!

Good luck!

I am 100% psoitive i have won all beginer and pro. events and it still wont let me iun to the GTWC or exctreme events.:grumpy: ( I know that i shouldnt drag up an old thread but my thread was closed before I could reply)

You're wrong. You have missed something. There is a race somewhere you haven't won.

Your new thread was locked because in 100% of cases where someone cannot enter the GTWC it is because they have missed something - check your diary and tick off each event (and series) when you see the winning entry. You will find one that you have not won.

daan's reply (post #3 in this very thread) is what you should read.

This is one of the most frequently sought answers regarding GT4 on GT Planet. The answer is always the same and without fail everyone who has asked has eventually come back again with "oh yeah, I missed ....... race" or "I found the bronze trophy that looked like gold for ....... event"

Don't despair, do as Moloch_horridus has suggested and use your diary to check off the events, one by one as you completed them. Somewhere there will be a race without the champion stamp. It may be that you've completed 5 races of a championship individually, without actually winning the championship itself. This would stop you entering, specifically Tuning Car Grand Prix, World Classic Car Series and World Compact Car Race, since these are the only 3 championship style events in the Beginner and Professional halls. Also check your diary for the prize cars for each of the events in the Beginner and Professional halls. If you don't have a particular prize car listed as delivered in your diary, then you haven't won that event.

Glad we were able to help, and no problem about reigniting an old thread, in fact we'd prefer you did that, rather than start another one on an issue which has already been covered. :) Hence the reason your original one got closed so quickly more than likely. ;)

Do you mind sharing what your issue was with us?

I'm curious to see what you'd missed, as things are very easy to overlook! I was going to suggest again that you look at the championships carefully. They have square rather than round trophy "holders" but there's only 5 of them for a 5 race series, and no way of knowing by looking at the events selection screen whether it's just the individual races that have been won, or the overall championship has been won. To see this you must be in a vehicle that is eligible for the championship and enter the screen where you can either enter the championship, or the races individually. The first Icon on the left which has a shield with chequered flag wings and a GT logo in the center is the championship icon. This must be gold as well as all 5 races, in the 3 championships I mentioned earlier to enable you to progress into the GTWC event.
This is a common source of confusion since, as I said, it's possible to win the races individually, but not the championship and still appear from the initial Professional Hall screen that displays all the events, that you have all gold trophies everywhere.
It is also possible that you can obtain the gold trophy for winning the championships, (finishing with more points than the second placed AI) without actually winning each race. This sometimes leads to confusion if people have suggested you check out prizecars. (You'll get the prizecar for winning the championship regardless of whether you won every race or not!)
