Can't play with a hangover.

I just started the PD pro race today, with the z06,

Reason I chose the z06 is because I haven't used any chevys in a race yet, and since this is the last normal car race I have to do (this, some of the edurance races and the F1 race) I figured I might aswell as it was my last chance.

I used the second from last sticky tires and did an oil change. The z06 is black as a sleek looking car like this should be.

As for the hangover. It was my birthday yesterday, and some (haha) alcohol was consumed.

Started the series with the AI z06 jumping way ahead, but he ended up pitting every 2 laps. The z06 would be a contender with a better pit strategy. As it stands the Cobra R and the 350z fight for 1st most of the race.

I ended up gaining first around lap 6, and when it was time to pit on lap 7 I wasn't paying attention and missed the pit entrance, losing some time running orange tires in the front.

On lap 8 I went to pit and smashed straight into the divider costing me about 5 seconds, I had to back up to get around it. and I ended up in 3rd or 4th place on pit exit.

on lap 10 or so I came around the corner and smashed into the divider again, bringing me to a full stop and forcing me to reverse. I am really not this bad ever. I'm now 18 seconds behind.

I pitted on lap 15 and managed to get myself about 13 seconds from pole, the 350z and Cobra R pitted on lap 18 landing me the win by about 6 seconds.

Moral of the story; Don't drink and drive, even in GT3 !

You know what ? I never felt comfortable drinking around my parents either...

I moved out at the age of 22 and live on my own now (With my girlfriend) so I can do pretty much what I want, Funny thing is I don't drink, smoke pot, take E or anything else anymore. Only reason I drank was cause it was my birthday celebration yesterday, I actually wasn't drunk today while playing, just hung over.

Here's something to try though, Invite a few friends over, and you play GT3 against eachother,

Whoever wins, gets the top of the split screen, and stays there until he/she loses,

The loser has to pass the controller in a clockwise motion around the room.

The goal of the winner is to stay there as long as possible. The only problem, for every win, the winner has to take a shot (vodka, tequila etc)

It helps to have beers for all the other players also.

Pretty soon the winner will begin to lose from being drunk. It's pretty fun to figure out where your limits are as far as drinking, and laptimes, and smashing into ****. As the night progresses everyone ends up being ****faced, and someone always forgets to keep score.

@Jcole, that is really good idea about party, shots. But too bad for me because i have no friends who do play GT3 or who can play, but not good as I do. :(

Heh, we used to play a little game with the old PSX and F1 '97 Champion Edition. You play the Time Trial section (where F1 cars suddenly handle like World of Outlaw cars, and it's really easy to drive like an idiot). However, if you hit a wall, it hurts your lap time quite a bit.

So we'd pass around the brew, and pass the controlled too. You had two laps to to beat the time; and then you had to continue to beat your own time, or you had to pass the controller. You had a drink every time you seet a lap record. The game got to be quite fun for a while.

But the GT series is a whole lot more demanding of your reflexes and abilities; I don't even reccommend playing it if you're hungover or even the slightest bit sleepy.

I've played a few GT races with a beer in my hand, but it's just not as fun. Even if I'm not hitting walls, I'm not driving as smoothly, or not as fast. It's okay for the numerous Test Course races, though. But certainly not SSR11 or even Apricot Hill.

Hey RER - you know that P001 lap I set at Midfield for that online race? I did that drunk at 3am... :D

I find that mild intoxication, with a sideline in being dog-tired, is an aid to GT3 racing. But I'd never drive for real after ANY alcohol or whilst feeling sleeeeepy :D

Yea, you get a "rush" type feeling after you've consumed your first couple of drinks. That's your body going in overdrive to flush out the toxic poison (Alcohol). It may seem like it gives you an edge, but wait a little while. The alcohol starts to kick in, and begins to retard your reaction time.

I don't like mixing drinking with any type of driving. It gives too many morons the wrong idea that this is fun to do, and that it should be tried with real cars.

If your hung over, drink a lot of water. That feeling you have is mostly based on the fact that you are dehydrated. About 1.5 to 2 liters ought to do it.

I rarely go beyond the first drink - I only drink beer/lager/wine with food, such as with an evening meal, before I go on the PS2. But there is only one circumstance I would ever consider getting into a car and driving after having taken ANY alcohol.

Wasn't there a thread like this before? Sounds like you had fun though jcole...I can't play with headaches so I guess I wouldn't be able to do it with a hangover.
