I don't think it is possible to get the GOLD in this even inless you force a helping hand from some of the other cars that are much quicker.

The fastest lap I can possibly get is about 1:41.900ish. Has anyone else managed to get a time of UNDER 1:39.000 for the gold? I believe this to be IMPOSSIBLE unless you get a helpful nudge from someone!

It is difficult, but I found the easiest thing to do is to shift a little early (as said in the post above, and get behind any cars possible that pass you. This will give you a decent draft if you get behind them in time, and actually made my car go quite a bit faster. Good luck.

well you cant do it in the first lap thats for sure....best way to do it is to start slowly and let plenty of cars overtake you and time it so when the 2nd lap starts your about to be overtaken by a few cars.
then you will have a good chance of winning the gold as you can slip stream the first then when he has gone slip stream the 2nd and any others who are passing you....if it doesnt work then do the same again...let the lap go to waste and just time the coming up lap the same way so your about to be over taken by a few cars.

i got a gold this way...even got my replay but cant be bothered to upload it on to youtube tbh lol....quality wouldnt be too good anyway as i'd have to record with a camera

It's possible to get gold on standard settings, right? Or is it locked? I got silver a couple of hours ago, and I'm pretty sure I had pro physics on. Got some lucky drafts on the straight, but my gear ratios weren't set for drafting so I just hit the limiter. Didn't get much out of it after all. ABS on, all other aids off.

i've done this event twice. Both times in standard mode. maanaged a 1.38.9xx first time and a 1.37.699 the second time.

so it is possible but I doubt it in professional.

it's possible inprofessional mode, i managed a 1.37.something without using aids.

I think they should allow us to use the tuned version of the cars for car specific races but without the QTS. This would make it that much easier. At the moment a lot of races are too hard and we cannot get gold in the races. They just made the restrictions too much as usual.

I managed to get gold at first attempt on that one, albeit on the very last lap of the ten minutes and with a lot of slipstreaming.

I did it!! :) Before i had only Bronze, but after reading this thread i got a gold by shifting early and "cheat" a little.... video soon.

Good job! What was your actual laptime? I managed to get the job done just by slipstreaming and I didn't need to use the barriers although I wish I'd thought of that!

Came in about 1:38.095

I did it yesterday. My time was 1:38:xxx using no aids in pro mode and no cheating. The thing i did was slipstreaming behind c4 all way around.let him pass me before the start line (you have to get out of last corner at about 137 km/h), then just get to the slipstream and by the end of straight you should have around 180 km/h.Just before 2nd corner you should be at 200 km/h then drop down to 134 km/h to go through corner easily.Still close behind c4 getting slipstream across the bridge you should follow him through s curve into the tunnel where you pass c4 (slipstream again).Take the last corner at 140 km/h and voila!!!

Hope this helps some of you guys.

The trick to doing this which isn't obvious is to use 5th gear.

When you are on the last bend make sure you put the car into 5th gear. The reason for this is because if you stay in 4th your top speed will be 104mph when your on the first bend but if you use 5th your speed will be 112mph.

I have done a 1.36 using this techinque so should easily be possible to aqquire the time.

I first thought it would really be impossible. Used good drafts, drove completely clean laps but only managed good silver times.

Then I drove at the end of the start/finish line with about 170 Km/H when suddenly and rapidly a blue Focus ST got larger and larger in my rearmirror. He crashed heavy into my car and catapulted it up to 193 Km/H. And that was only because I was still stuck in 4th gear. He would have crashed me to maybe about 230 Km/H if I already had engaged 5th Gear. So I changed to 5th Gear and when changing the side of the Track (going down to the left side) he bumped me again and so I was at 212 Km/H :sly:

So I managed Gold after only 7 attempts with about 1.8 Seconds faster than "Gold Time".

Now I am always wondering where this damned Focus is at Eiger Nordwand Reverse in BMW M3 :)

I found this really hard?!? I couldn't win with slipstream alone I had to get a shove from either the Mini or the Focus...seems against the spirit of the game to do that but no amount of slipstream alone seemed to gain me the time required for gold. I like that the game has some real difficulty to it though. 3 down, buckets to go!

Yeah, Weary One, that's where I am with this. After maybe 45 minutes of this mission, I've had 2 laps in the 1':39.5xx range, but it's been tough cutting that last 7/10ths off to get under gold. And usually I only get one lap per time limit that is anywhere near gold, thanks to the way the AI cars are distributed.

Oddly enough, I've tried quite hard to get the AI to bump draft me, but it never works! PD has improved their programming enough that they usually swerve to avoid me (at least I can still draft them then) or, worse, I end up making them brake heavily and I lose the opportunity to draft them.

I'll get there eventually, I guess, but this one is a bit difficult.

The key to this one is to shift early! Don't take 4th gear past redline, I can't remember the exact RPM I used to shift at (it's been a while sine I did this challenge) but I don't think it was even at redline when I shifted from 4th to 5th, and I beat Gold by about 1 sec on profession physics.

Well, thanks to a previous thread, I've been shifting at 7500 (1000 rpm before redline). That helped bring me down from the 1':41" range into the 39s. I really just need some luck with the slipstreaming.

So, you sat idle in the pits for 50-odd seconds before pulling out, in order to get a lot of traffic to draft. Smart!

I just got gold in this just 20 minutes ago (I'm going through all the ones I have bronze or silver on, and trying to get gold).

The way I did it was not long after the tunnel, but before the final corner I had 2 cars a few seconds behind me, and another 2 cars about 2 seconds behind them. I slowed up the 2 cars by blocking them from getting past until the other 2 cought up.

Once I had 4 cars behind me I started accelerating (just as I entered the final turn) and then once we got onto the straight, they started to pass me one at a time, and I would slip stream them along the whole straight.

They would pull away at certain parts, but then I would catch up on the corners and begin slip streaming them again. Ended up doing a 1'38.712 or something along those lines.

Now im stuck on B-3 where you have to get the Evo IX around Eiger Nordwand in under 1'14.000 for a gold. The best I can do is 1'15.487 which is silver. That is another one which requires slip stream to win it!
